Yeah, they looked like typical Toronto teams of the past. They have players, some very good. But they don't have a team that can compete at a playoff level.
They just keep trying to succeed in the playoffs with the same basic personnel makeup and it's not going to happen.

At some point, the time left on the contract (and money owed him) is going to match the desire of another team to have him. It's just a matter of waiting it out.

This just doesn't come across as genuine. The guy has screwed his career and now seems to be trying to do whatever he can to salvage it. Understandable, but he's not going to have much success in rehab if it's a con job. 29 will become 35 fast and he's going to blow it if he doesn't get serious real quick.

Anyway, he should be pretty much done with hockey in North America. So, he probably will end up in Europe soon.

Guys like Quick and Perry make me laugh. When they signed their big contracts they had to have no trade clauses for the stability of not being bounced around. Now that they're in the waning years of their careers when you would think the stability of staying in one place would matter more, they uproot and move every season or more.

As they sit now they have almost 29 mil under the cap with 4 RFA to sign and another 11 mil off next year with Rico and Silf. If they shed Gibson that's more space. Those 2 contracts will hardly be felt by the time they expire

I think you have to look at both Killorn and Gudas as culture/leadership signings. Guys who will win board battles, work hard on D and demand that everyone else do the same. And both those contracts will be off the books by the time the Ducks approach the salary cap again

You should be feeling good until at least Christmas. Just don't spend too much time reading the drivel on other boards written by disgruntled East coast and Canadian fans who want to claim Vegas is where they are because of the expansion draft 6 years ago.
Vegas fleeced (by better understanding talent, team, the game) at least 4 other teams. Here's some gambling philosophy based on the randomness of calling a coin flip:
