Dude has a nice pad in Newport which his wife probably loves. Why would he want to go the a dump like NYC or Houston? Every other team has the same chance to get to the playoffs in the next 5 years as the Angels, plus the other teams don't have Ohtani.

Trout barely played in 2021 and Ohtani had a phenominal 2021. Trout is back full time this year, but is slumping and Ohtani is down from last years numbers.

Part of the offensive problem is they don't try to manufacture runs and put pressure on the defense by Hit and run, bunts, steals etc. They are sitting back and relying on home runs, hence the HR swing with two strikes and inevitable multiple "K's". They have pretty good team speed, although not as fast as the Royals. The starters need to get into the 7th inning. The Angels just need to put more balls in play and when a guy gets on base, move him into scoring position. On another note, the 1964 Phillies lost a 6.5 game lead with 12 games left to lose the pennant, so there is still plenty of time to make the playoffs. Alot can happen between now and Sept. So. They did not get swept by the Mets, but the Angels did sweep Boston and Cleveland. I am still confident the Angels will be in the mix for a wild card spot. Other teams are also going to go through injuries and other struggles. Onward and upward.

Yankees and Astros are not "every good team". They are outstanding teams right now. If you are going to set your "Angel happiness meter" based on playing those teams, then you just enjoy disappointment.

Angel fans need to chill a bit. This is the Astros and they are RED HOT right now. Even punked the Yankees and Mets. Still plenty of time left to get the 3rd wild card. Other teams in contention will also go through bad spells over the next 3 months. Angels just need to start winning series against the Rangers, A's, Seattle, and the other teams in contention for the wild card. Angels can afford to get swept by Houston, Yankees.

Arte will absolutely sign Shohei to a long extension. Remember that Arte's #1 objective is to sell beers. Butts in seats = Beer sales. Not to mention that Ohtani also is 1 roster spot playing two positions. This frees up a spot for an extra player. The Angels would need to get the other 7 starting AL all star team members to make the deal even Steven. Very few teams can match Trout and Ohtani (DH), Ohtani (P) as the #1, #2, #3 guys. The Angels just need to figure out the other 7 positions. Someone is due to step up, a minor leaguer is due to emerge, a couple of those (20) drafted pitchers have to pay off. Just don't panic. We only need a light year on the injury front, and some luck to turn it around. Also keep Nevin as manager. He has an "edge" to him that the players will respond to.

Football awards a pass interference call at the point of the foul, and at the one yard line if the foul occurs in the end zone. Used to be only 15 yards and defenses took advantage just like managers take advantage of intentionally walking the marquee hitters. Totally ruins the game /excitement from a fan perspective. Baseball is too married to arcane rules (due to sanctity of stats) and will most likely not change and continue to lose fans.

In Football and Basketball all the stars on offense can impact multiple plays in a row. In baseball you wait 3 innings for the stars to come up to bat. Then the other team takes the bat out of their hand and walks them. Suggestions: If a player walks, a runner goes to first but the manager has the option of keeping the player who walked up for another at bat. Until he puts a ball into play or strikes out. Suggestion #2 - Any fastball pitch in the close vicinity of the batters head results in a triple, and the same rule above also applies.
