Jarred Walsh was an All-Star in 2021. There was no reason to draft a 1Bman. They needed pitching, especially since Arte won't pony up for a pitcher.

Yes. I can accept Neto hitting .220 with 10-12 HRs because he saves runs on defense. Schanuel is probably the best fielding 1Bman we have, but the difference is minor. He needs to (at a minimum) hit .260 with a .340 OBP to earn playing time.

Take a clue from what Rendon is doing now. I would happy if he turns out to be a left handed Rendon. For the next week (6 games), just start him once or twice. Use Drury or Sano at 1B. Give Rengifo more starts. Work with him in batting practice and spend more time working with him when he gets back home. If he is still struggling 2 weeks from now, send him down (but not until there is a clear plan and what he needs to work on).

Ohtani with 20. Velasquez 2nd with 13 and Rengifo 3rd with 6. Wash is prioritizing the running game and Adell stole 5 in the spring including 3B twice.

Adell may be the best base stealer on the team.

I agree. I would rather see Adell and Moniak get AB's over Sano and Hicks. However, Sano and Hicks will get more walks and strike out less than Adell and Moniak. Right now, Wash is favoring OBP and putting the ball in play.

I hope it's nothing. It's time to stop glorifying the Home Run. I'd much rather have the batter hit the ball to the right side with less than 2 outs and a runner on 2B, 80% of the time rather than swing for the fences and hit a Home Run 5% of the time, while striking out 30% of the time.
