  1. Trade Howie during the offseason. Why does it have to be Lindsey that takes his spot in the lineup. CAll up Lucho and put Callaspo at 2nd
  2. I would imagine we would get a ton for Howie. Look at what the Braves got for Martin Prado who has more versatility, but is about equal if not slightly worse at the plate than Howie. There aren't all that many quality 2nd basemen out there. How far away is Cowart? I wouldn't mind seeing him at third and Callaspo at second next year, with a young stud in the rotation
  3. Suppose we wanted to become a younger ballclub next year. What would that include? I don't really see many moving pieces on this team. Downs will be gone, Vargas may or may not be gone, Hanson may be non-tendered, and Howie/ Aybar and maybe even Frieri are our only trade chips that will net anything significant. I would like to see Frieri to the Tigers for one of Drew Smyly or Rick Porcello. And as much as I think Howie is turning it around, I think it would be best to sell high on him as we could get a whole lot for him from a whole lot of teams. Braves, Dodgers, Orioles, Blue Jays, Royals, Rockies all need a second baseman. Our pitching staff and bullpen clearly have to be fixed.
  4. Trout is Lesean McCoy Weaver is our Jason Peters, he anchors our rotation and without him, we are screwed
  5. I started noticing this last year. Lets check out the similarities: Andy Reid had been the longest tenured coach in the NFL, and while the team had been good, there wasn't any success in the playoffs. The Eagles, like the Angels had a huge offseason in 2011 and while they weren't bad, they missed the playoffs despite showing great capabilities at times. The Eagles had a slightly quieter offseason in 2012 and were still expected to be one of the better teams in the league. They were pretty much god awful during the season. Hopefully the Angels can avoid this fate, but that's where they appear to be headed. What this means for the future: Sosh will be fired and sign with KC as did Andy Reid, an up and coming team both in the NFL and MLB. We won't be getting picked by anyone to win the division in 2014, but we'll still have an exciting team, with a new manager
  6. How does this guy have a positive war? An entire point should be taken off after tonight's " effort "
  7. How about you guys check out Torres' minor league numbers before raving about his 16 innings in the bigs this year. He has like a career 4 bb/9. He has great stuff, but the command is a fluke
  8. Agreed AO, all i look for is progress . Even when this team is officially eliminated, it still matters to me if there is progress.
  9. I was for the idea at the time. Give Trout breaking balls to steal off of. Break up the righties Force pitchers to throw him fastballs with Pujols on deck Unfortunately, i didnt realize he would be the worst hitting position player in the majors today sans Brendan Ryan
  10. Worse than useless, he was killed the team's momentum every time he stepped into the box.
  11. What makes people think Scioscia doesnt care? Hes not the manager of a young ball club trying to find its way, these are fully developed ball players who should be able to execute his calls and play fundamental baseball. Its not Sosh's fault Petey cant get a bunt down and Hamilton literally has a formula for striking out ( Lefty + Breaking ball a foot off the plate). Only thing is, I would would have pinch hit for Hamilton had it been bases loaded, 1 out with the IBB to Trout. However, there are not many managers if any at all that would make that call
  12. Can we sell him to a Japanese team? Half joking
  13. How long before things get awkward enough with Hamilton single handedly losing this game that he starts realizing he better start hustling for the good of the team
  14. Yes, if I were manager, Hamilton doesn't face the lefty with one out and bases loaded, Shuck does. Of course that would hurt Joshy's feelings
  15. WTF? Trout wins the game with that fly ball if Petey gets down the bunt
  16. Kendrick Aybar Trout Pujols Trumbo Hamilton Bourjos Callaspo Ianneta
  17. I don't know this for a fact, but I would imagine that Trout has the green light every time he gets on
  18. I saw that, completely unacceptable. Would have beat it out too if he had busted it down the line
  19. That third DP is exactly why I question if he cares. If you're about to ground into your 3rd DP on the day, you better be busting it down the line. Hamilton looked to be going 80%
  20. I'm not sure how this jesus thing came up, but I would have thought that after being benched in favor for Harris and being pinch hit over by Brad Hawpe, Hamilton would at least be running hard down the line and making an effort to take pitches. Today he had some good ab's. Not just the homer, but the opposite field line drives
  21. I think its on its 3rd or 4th wind
  22. What we need is Albert to get hot. Ive given up on Josh, but maybe todays performance will get Pujols fired up. Then again, it could send us spiraling down.
  23. That Brad Hawpe is chosen to pinch hit over him? That Brendan Harris is a better option than he is against lefties? At least with Pujols, you can tell he takes pride in his game and he has made that known. Im really not sure if Hamilton cares at all or takes pride in his game. While i expect Pujols to get angry and fired up after this game, I cant say i would expect anything from Hamilton in the same situation.
