  1. Jake Jewell down after just acquired...Eppler's hands are merely tied at this point. IT JUST SUCKS!!!
  2. ...but wait for the pendulum to swing their direction with health, getting out from underneath the injury bug, and getting back on track with winning. That's a dilapidated team of starting pitching out there now, though, with hardly any sign of light at the end of the tunnel for 3/5 more needed to win by. IT SUCKS!!!
  3. Texas isn't going to pick up his option. TJS, that he came back to soon, the mention. But, with the healing factor at play with a move to Anaheim, the general success rate after TJS, and his age, should Eppler not take the chance on him if the price isn't too steep? 3/5 of their rotation is ML patchwork as it is. The Dodgers took Drew Hutchison on a ML deal as that was as Eppler just picked up Deck McGuire. It just sux seeing them go through this after loading up at the beginning of each season, it seems!
  4. Yeah, I know, pass, but. If there's a pitcher to jump on for that rebound with venue change opp, roll the dice on him! Contract final year, Tex just demoted him to bullpen, maybe on the verge of dumping him. Grab him while they could use another LHP, still a pretty good arm needing a better idea. This team loads up, then it becomes decimated with injuries season after season, it seems, that makes it so frustrating. 4 guys hit the DL yesterday with 2 SP's among them...I mean, come on!...do they leave the snakebite kit in Tempe or something?! At least Cole and Simba are close to returning, but that damn needle on E for the team on the pitching is showing again at the 1/2 way point, too, shit!!!
  5. That'll stink up Dodger Town, for the 2nd time in a 3 months.
  6. The need to hire the witch doctor to get rid of the SA River curse again, especially after all of that damn tent city cleanup!
  7. Completely? Mound presence. Joe Nathan was a starter turned closer himself at the same age, 27. Drew's 2014 K/BB ratio sticks to mind. If his velocity hasn't fallen, not sure. He hasn't had a single SV opp in his career up to this point. Nathan is apples to oranges in comparison, yet they among some clubs might want to take a flier on him at this point.
  8. Elects FA, the Angels can go after him for the bullpen. I would!
  9. BA nailed that pick, must've bugged the Marlins room, damn it!
  10. Singer's hat reminds me of Doug Bair warming up in the Cincinnati Red's bullpen. See what I mean? https://www.bing.com/images/search?view=detailV2&ccid=OZjAVhHs&id=6E1FDAC290AA1276B7E36249AC87DB7FD288E347&thid=OIP.OZjAVhHsOuzmM5LkEr8c9QAAAA&mediaurl=http%3a%2f%2fwww.tradingcarddb.com%2fImages%2fCards%2fBaseball%2f8675%2f8675-234Fr.jpg&exph=350&expw=248&q=doug+bair+baseball&simid=608051360106415694&selectedIndex=2
  11. Ethan Hankins that he repeats his pitches well? Did Gubi have a say on this one?
  12. Mayo and Callis have Scott going 28 to the Astros on their latest mock. Don't not pass up on Scott if he's there.
  13. BA vs http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2018/?list=draft Looks like BA shifted Connor Scott up compared.
  14. CONNOR SCOTT AT 17, OF, PLANT H.S. (FL) As much as we have grown impressed with Ohtahi gazelle-like ability added to his tools, Scott is the desirable one at that spot.
  15. Whose the best athlete with tools to develop from, in HS? Today's MLB draft buzz suggests Kyler Murray was the best athlete in the 2015 draft before committed to OU for Football and Baseball. Murray is the next QB behind (the Browns idiotic 1st pick of Mayfield) but the article suggests he could be lured into this year's draft. Whether the Angels would want to take him at 17 if he's there...too risky or rewardy?
  16. There was the depth heading into ST. Between Shoe, Trope, JC, Heaney, Bridwell, need 2-3 of those to be healthy or perform better for the starting rotation the rest of the season. This deja vu is frustrating, though! Shoe and JC both might be dealing with recurring injuries of keeping them out for awhile, themselves, leaving it up to Trope, Heaney, and Bridwell to hold fort. Do you trust it or do we petition for them to sign Lackey at this point?
  17. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/03/mlb-players-out-of-options-2018.html LOL, 2018 Players Out of Options. Catchy though! Particularly for anyone on the can with their smartphone right now. Looking at that list, I can see why they traded Cron by his trend in recent years of starting out slow, being sent down, then brought back up to rake again. Now the Rays have to deal with that. Dilsson Herrera (Reds) cleared waivers, outrighted to AAA as one on that list, today. Who do you think might fall off within the list that the Angels should put in a claim for that the team faces along the same lines as Cron? AJ Cole for the Nationals would've to my mind had the Angels appeared relatively thin in that department this spring. Not now, though. Jurickson Profar, with the Rangers forced to drop him for his inconsistency season after season, the Angels could claim, and I would encourage them to do so. Especially with fellow countryman, Andrelton Simmons already on board.
  18. Plus, the article screwed up to say that he played 5 seasons when he played 6.
  19. You're right, because Hawk had greater years with the Cubs than he did with Expos upon 2nd look of the stats.
  20. 5 great years with the Angels. But, he'd have to go in as an Expo with even greater, more years there, like Hawk.
