  1. Hosmer betters belt by 1 WAR point in career (not saying much), is the better glove, while his knack for the post-season impact factors of influence as the better player. Boras will not get the overzealous asking tag, however. Should the Angels be in on Hosmer because of that themselves and trade Cron, perhaps? His bat, glove, and all around is valuable at the right price.
  2. Hosmer - Giants: Upgrade to Belt and Longoria's at 3B now, Hosmer's won a WS, the best fit (as long a Boras' price comes down). Yelich - Nationals: Harper's in a FA walk year and he's the upgrade to Adam Eaton (replacing Werth) Darvish - Cubs: Theo remembers how well he pitched against them in the playoffs last year Cobb (good value) - Brewers: Good young rotation of needing a better piece with Chacin presently in the middle, while they finished 2nd of a strong division last year. Arrieta (overpriced) - Mariners: DiPoto overpays for a power pitcher to put in with King Felix and Paxton to pitcher friendly Safeco as the Angels, Astros division answers. Martinez - Red Sox Moustakas - Reds: Suarez (underrated) moves to SS, Mouse to 3B, Votto at 1B...Cinci has to do something for Votto. Mouse added might make for a more intriguing lineup. Lynn (overrated) - Reds: See Moustakas
  3. Darvish, Angels, how? Too much $ strapping payroll with adding him, I think. A trade for a SP, maybe, but not a FA.
  4. By the depth charts, the Angels have it on the IF with the Astros on the OF. The Angels BP looks stronger, particularly with Ramirez that can slide in there. The Astros inevitably will need to move Morton there, it seems. Valbuena and JC Ramirez for Morton and Marisnick?
  5. I kind of scratch my head why they gave up Musgrove who was such a workhorse for them last year. Mid-innings, there was Musgrove! ***My mistake, Devenski, not Musgrove, was the bullpen workhorse last season.***
  6. If push comes to shove, both the Angels and Astros will have 6-man rotations for the 2018 season. Both squads are quite deep at this point all over the field, particularly from SP to RP.
  7. ....Richards, Skaggs, Shoe, Morton, Bridwell would be my SP 5. Ohtani/Ramirez/Heaney next in line, but you see the trade leverage involved here for added depth to the bench or farm perhaps.
  8. The Angels are stacked at SP and BP themselves, but Morton's potential impact is eye-catching. Who's the odd man out for the Angels with getting Morton? I'd say maybe Heaney with his durability concerns where if had Ramirez and Morton to pitch SP or RP for season or post-season, damn I want that!!
  9. Darvish is off their radar after Cole acquired.
  10. His role has changed with the Astros now, demoted to say the least, where the Angels are that opportunity of a division rival to give him the promoted one. I don't see it as kidnapping but rescuing.
  11. A fluke? His stuff was so good last year that I would be willing to take the chance that it would carryover for another year at 35 years old.
  12. By the same token, he can do what he did last for the Angels this year with his outlook diminished with the Astros.
  13. Now that Cole has been traded to the Astros muddying up Morton's outlook, Eppler should go get Morton! The Astros are an inter-division rival but swing it!!
  14. I was the original poster saying I read that they might prefer an SRHP to face Stanton and Judge.
  15. How, Dipoto is the M's GM?!
  16. Maybe you could answer that one for me?
  17. It rejected the Yankees' Stanton deal, too, right?
  18. Okay, one says it's too little, the other too much. If too much, pick of their fruitful prospect tree, right?
  19. then pitch around Judge, then Gary Sanchez, then Aaron Hicks in band box ballparks throughout the AL East? Why wouldn't Boston want Richards??
  20. I'd take Sale for Angel Stadium any day of the week!
  21. Those 2 toward it, not necessarily the deal suggested there.
  22. Read the Red Sox are concerned about facing the Yankees now with a lefty after their getting Stanton. Give them a nice RHP comp to Sale and they might like the idea, Yes? They also need OF help. Richards and Calhoun for him Sign Revere to lead off.
