  1. IMO, I think the Angels may go with the veterans before the youngsters as far as bench depth goes.  They will want the prospect bench guys to get regular everyday reps in AAA, as opposed to sitting on the bench at the MLB level using up mlb service time.

This is why I think Hall has a legitimate shot at the roster.  Of course now it depends on how he comes back from injury.

  2. The thing is, I think Corey will test the waters first to see what he can get elsewhere. I don't see him re-signing before the season is over.

But if that's the case, then why would any team give up anything much of value for him?  It he is going to test free agency, then he will just be a rental on whatever team trades for him.  I don't think any team will give up huge value for a rental.

Other possibility, we keep Perry, and trade for another piece since we have cap room, and make a real push this season.  This is where Hiller may come into play.

I am not familiar at all with NHL free agent rules.  Do the Ducks get compensation if we lose Perry?

  3. Richard Sherman gets snarky with Skip Bayless, provides a marginal reason to watch ‘First Take’

    Awesome.  Powned!

(Edited by Mod: You were not using the right link for sharing links for YouTube -- Plus you don't need to use media tags, just go to YouTube, click on share under the video, it pops open a link at the top of the video that looks like youtu.be xxxxx etc.) I copied the correct YouTube link and pasted it in this thread.
  4. One problem with him is he isn't on the 40 man roster.  But then again, Hall isn't on the 40 man roster also.

But the big red flag is, these numbers are so much higher than anything he's done in the minors.    I don't know how much the Angels would be willing to put him on the roster, off of one Spring.  He'll probably start in AAA, and see if his hitting continues, then possibly be called up later in the season.  But then you run into the problem of not being able to send him back down without clearing waivers.

http://thebaseballcube.com/players/profile.asp?P=Bill-Hall'>Bill Hall on the other  hand at least had some former MLB experience, and was good at one point.  I could see them taking a shot at him, especially with the power he's shown in the spring.
