like I have said before about this guy, if he learns how to dig balls and drive the ball deep, maybe he can be a 1st baseman someday. He kinda moves like me after Thanksgiving dinner......
-
I watched him take grounders a few weeks ago, and he looks like a first baseman to me. I didn't see a whole lot of SS in him, maybe 3B but more like 1B.

They should get rid of the Indians, the Chiefs, the Redskins, Walmart should recall all those cheap ass canoe's they've been selling, no more hatchets, hell they should drain Lake O The Cherokees down in Oklahoma. Creeks, Rivers, counties, schools all of this shit that is named after these people should be removed and stricken from the books....its Racist and its not right and needs to stop. I know some good ol boys down in Texas that ride horses and rope cattle and now they want Dallas Cowboys to change their name.......when does this I'm offended shit stop?

Ok, that's fair. Do you see any current Angels prospects as "untouchable" though?
Great question....Do you think he might be a little attached to his very first draft? its always better to be part of the new regime than the old! Or does a good GM just just look at them all as expendable pawns?

we certainly have 8 in the top 150 or so. With an argument for Thaiss and maybe even Hermosillo in that 150 as well.
Aside from the obvious 'one that got away' in Vlad jr, seeing Whitley do what he's doing as the pick immediately after Thaiss is a little painful considering that he was certainly one of those mentioned as a possibility on draft day. Probably means we don't draft Marsh but maybe it means we don't draft Williams. Oh well. Very happy with where we are vs. where we were a short time ago.
I think our system has improved considerably, but it's also very interesting. Adell, Marsh and Maitan have superstar potential. Rodriguez has top of the rotation potential. And then there's a bunch of other real solid guys with some upside. That also doesn't even include what Ohtani is going to be. We could have a couple in the top 20 even after Ohtani moves up.
My guess is we take a similar strategy in this years draft with a safe pick in the 1st and something a bit more risky in rounds 2 and 3.
Loved our 1st two picks last year. Then lost a little excitement till Rivera at 11.
A little bit of the opposite for 2016. Not super excited about #1, but really liked 2-8.
At this point, I feel like we've got enough depth so I hope we go with a bunch of big upside.
And we can't forget about the guys in the top 30-40 with big upside like TH jr., Deveaux, Duensing, etc.
I agree with keeping the same strategy in this years draft. And if you want to dream a little bit I think we have a couple of sleeper's that will emerge this year or next, most farm's usually do. I personally like Soto a little more than Maitan, who some say he moves more like a first baseman. Strong up the middle athlete's are great trading pieces, let' get some more in June.

The prospects on the back fields. Not just the top 4-5 guys..obviously they will be kicking ass, but the other 20-25 prospects. Who's hitting the ball out of the park, who put on 10lbs of muscle this winter, who did they send to the OF, and who did they turn into a pitcher. This is the stuff that is hard to find any info on.
-
Thaiss isn't rangy enough for 2b or 3b, maybe a corner fielder at some point when we trade our OF prospects for pitchers.
-
This kid has been in pro ball for 17 months, I think he has time to become solid at 1b, and add a little muscle.
He also looked good last spring playing with the big boys.

I saw this guy last summer at 220lbs Nonie runs a 6.4, and throws 96MPH from the outfield with a very fast bat. He hits lefties very well and is adjusting to his all righty approach at the plate, and still 19 years old. Everything that I read on him said he was a huge athlete that would take years to develop I don't think I would give up on him yet...Hell trade him for pitching!
-
Sign a obvious replacement and maybe Albert can see even with his bad eyes
that he is hindering the squad. Besides I think he can draw Social Security next year also.
-
So Eppler didn't go to Trouts wedding?....what a jerk!
-
Good move, we are loaded with bigger and stronger outfielders right now.
-
Now that we have all of these athletes in our system, do we have the staff to teach, and turn them into real ballplayers?
-
Some players were in Anaheim getting some hitting instruction.
-
-
Lets start giving Albert 4-5 days off each week and let it sink in that he is irrelevant at this point. Does he really want to end his career like this? Maybe he will collect his things and go home.

Pete Rose should of just tested positive for opium or stab his pregnant girlfriend in a elevator like everyone else and he would of been in the HOF, But hell no, he went and placed a bet on a baseball game.
-
He needs to suck sometimes, it will teach him to struggle and overcome a valuable tool moving forward.
-
Pearson doesn't have any HRs yet but he will soon.
-
-
Way Too early for that optimism, this spring his bat was very inconsistent, and I thought his catch and throw was in need of much help. Both can get better, he has time.
-
We don't even have the levers or the moving parts to be a contender next year without getting the checkbook out.

They were measuring hydration 3 times a day, and making players sit down and drink water until their levels came up. More injuries happen when your dehydrated is now the belief I guess.
