Boras knew months ago where Cole was going to sign. I expect a Thank You card in the mail.

I just don't see us outbidding the Dodgers for him. Dodgers lost out on Cole as well.
I can easily see the Angels outbidding the Dodgers

It wasnt that long ago Cole was an average pitcher. In 2016/2017, he combined for a 4.12 ERA and 102 ERA+. He has admittedly been amazing the last two years, but this is an incredibly risky contract.
We was only 26 yrs old in 2016 ... I believe the Cole Gerrit that signed is the real thing.

WOW I step out for dinner and Cole is a Yankee and already 12 page thread. It’s a shame he’s a Yankee now but $324M ouch

If 10/360M I’d take a hard pass

Some of you hold onto prospects far too hard.
Lol Didn’t we just sign him June 10th, 2019 and give him a check for $3.4M dollars?

Misleading thread title ... lol

Unfortunately, the Angels were forced into this trade. I’m sure this isn’t what they had in mind when they used their first round pick to sign this kid and $3.4M dollars
What a horrible signing Cozart turned out to be. Anyways it’s done and let’s move forward and used the dollars saved wisely.

I’m not surprised the Angels are looking to upgrade the offense. I’m been preaching this for a long time here. I prefer Donaldson because of the shorter term and the guy plays at 110% every game. He’d make a great hitter to follow Trout imo. Signing Rendon is optimal but it may take a ten year deal to sign him.

It’s sad to see the Angels with their back against the wall. This will end up being a extreme overpaid!

Boras must be luving this off season. He’s probably now looking for a $300M deal for Cole

Oh well then yeah fuck him. I can tell he’s a prick. Doesn’t take away how great of a show Sopronos is though. Probably have seen it 6 times all the way through and it never gets old.
I’ve never watched Sorpronos ... Thxs need to watch

Sounds like no team has even made a offer yet. Just a bunch of meet and greets. All the recent commotion is for naught ...

Does anyone know how many times Arte has gone after a big name free agent only for them to sign in NY or vice versa?
Texeira, obviously. Any others?
I’m just wondering whether Arte is willing to be outbid again.
Money won’t decide where Cole signs imo. I expect offers from the Yankees and Angels to be very close in money.

That’s why all of these highly paid athletes start these nice tax deductible foundations out of the goodness of their heart.
Does Trouty have a foundation?

Yes the offense will improve if everyone manages to stay healthy. The same applies to all teams. Yet, there is some very real concerns with the Angels offense. I don’t need to go into detail but if Arte spends a gazillion dollars on pitching you better protect your investment with great offense. Angels ranked 20th in runs scored. Please don’t bore me with Injuries ... you can bet will have our share of injuries next season.

If this is true the Angels are bolstering the pitching staff and leads me to believe they’re only signing one top free agent pitcher.

the only people kept in the dark about who's meeting with whom are the fans.
Is there more information you’re looking to get?
The Angels, Dodgers, Yankees have also met with Strasburg and Cole. Perhaps you would enjoy a video of all Cole’s sit downs with all the teams interested
I wonder if there’s more teams interested in both pitchers. My next guess would be the Rangers.
Plan B: What do you think the best option for the Angels is now?
