Congrats @Ranger_Lurker!! My step-dad and a good friend of mine down the street from him are ecstatic much like you.
Where did you watch the game last night?
I live in Dallas...watched from home.

Congratulations @Ranger_Lurker
Hifives! It's strange. Had the Rangers beat St Louis in 2011, it would have been pure joy and excitement.
But, because of that devastating loss, the dominant emotion I feel is a sense of relief.

Woot!
Suck it, Houston.
The 11-0 road record is something else. Records are always meant to be broken but, I don't see that one falling anytime soon.

Why is it Chapman is so hittable?
Because he throws like shit and anyone can hit a fastball down the pipe no matter how hard it is.

FOX was hoping for Phillies vs Astros.
I came across a good article last week about this very thing, but for the life of me, I can't find it in my history. But, this LATimes article says pretty much the same thing...
QuoteIt is bordering on cliche to say Fox hates this matchup, but it is also bordering on incorrect. There is no reason for a fan to be concerned about what makes Fox happy, but which teams are playing is less important to Fox than how long the series lasts, because more games means more commercials means more money.
“If you had given Fox execs an ALCS choice before the season — a four-game Red Sox-Yankees sweep or a seven-game Rangers-Astros series — every single one of them would have opted for a Game 7,”

The AZ/PHL segment was pretty epic. Harper is a stud, but man he is a prick. Perfect fit for him in Philly.

In his defense, he isn’t that smart.
I followed it. He wasn't wrong. They just forgot how to win.
Like everyone kept saying, the Rangers have to come back to Earth eventually. But, rather than just float down, they came down like a Russian Soyuz without a parachute.
Everyone was calling for Chapman's head. We quit hitting with RISP.
We just consoled ourselves with "well boys, it was a good run but now we know what we need in the in the off season".
Y'all know the scene in Moneyball where Brad Pitt just sits there with a radio? Turning it off and on? That is 100% me.
I'm sure y'all have seen the Garcia homerun in the ALCS that shows the Ranger fan at MMP? He was my best man. We played men's league baseball together before switching to mens hockey. I told him he got more highlight time than Altuve.

I know I still don't post much since my introduction post, but y'all exhibit exactly why I finally did sign up here....for the love of the game. Rangers fans get just as frustrated with players who aren't producing as you all do. When Texas loses a game, I just have to turn off my local sports radio, MLB and MLBNR until they win again.
But, it just proves fans can still be human while being division rivals....unless you're from Houston.
I lurk one of their forums and JFC they're just filled with hate beyond belief. I never post anything there, ever, but here are a few from tonight:
"Sickening to think the Rangers in one year of serious contention will match what the Astros did in...
Only year of serious contention."
I don't have a clue what that means, but it ain't full of love.
This one is a little easier to pick up on.
****ing *******. I hope the 'Stros figure out how to pitch to this piece of ****.
I know it's been awhile since y'all won it all, but the fact you still talk about it with such joy just makes me want it that much more this year.
Hopefully we won't get to 2 strikes... twice...and lose it again.
Anyway...good luck next year and Fuck Houston!

I'm glad the NCAA holds their umpires accountable.
In the MLB, an ump would get promoted to crew chief after pulling something like that.
Plus a bonus for speeding up the game

It surprised me that a trade was made this early. I'm happy it was, considering the bullpenis has been such a clusterfuck.

Yeah, they're dangling their WS hardware in our faces. Hopefully, we can shove back down their throats and choke on it.

You are right about this being the best baseball forum. Where else are you going to learn that you love cricket but just don't know it yet?

What's happening Halos?
So, yeah, I am a very long time AW lurker, must be over 10 years or something. Yes, I am a die hard Ranger's fan.
No, I am not a troll. If I were, I would save all that energy for the Astros forums. Anyway, I figured it might be time to say hi to all of you. Of all the non-Ranger fan forums I find myself lurking here most. I will admit, I enjoy this one the most. Whether the Angels are winning or losing, y'all are quite entertaining.
I get just as frustrated after a loss and refuse to watch MLB highlights until the next Rangers win. Getting swept by the sorry Reds was a long week. SMH
As for why I lurk here? Simply for the love of the game. As much as I wish I could, I can't watch every game and keep up with the goings-on of every team. It's just more fun to keep up to speed on the ALW from the fans perspectives. Besides, it probably goes without saying, that the Rangers forums are just a big circle jerk right now.
Seattle fans are too depressing to read.
Astros fans are....well fuck them. Who cares? It's Houston. They can all DIAF.
The A's? Hmmm. The less said the better.
So, here I am, lurking AW. I'll admit, for me, anyway, that baseball is more fun when the Rangers and Angels are competing for the division and we are all looking down at Houston.
Feel free to ask me anything...or just tell me to fuck off.

You take that back!
In all seriousness, I was as excited about having Mike back in Texas as I was about CY hiring Bochey.
Throughout Rangers history, the biggest challenge we faced was pitching...always pitching. Yeah, we might have had a good one or two here and there, but that only gets you so far.
Fact is, after STL, he was ready to retire, but when the likes of Chris Young and Bruce Bochey come knocking on your door, how could anyone not want to join those legends?
Good article
