The deal was Gott for Revere two days ago before the Angels pulled out. That's the cost. The speed and bat from left field over a AAA pitcher would certainly help the club now.

I'm not saying we could get them now. We should have when they were available.. We traded a second baseman to the Dodgers who traded a second baseman to the Marlins, how great would Dee Gordon be hitting .350 and standing on first ready to steal with Mike Trout and AP behind him? Pitchers would be screwed. And neither plays for the Royals so I have no idea what you are talking about. . And Albert Pujols being maligned is bullshit, he's a very good first baseman and a very good hitter, he is not our problem. Hamilton was a total cluster**** mess, but he's gone. I'm saying that we need to go all in now. The farm system is what it is, but if I hear that Tropeano or Heaney, and especially Tyler Skaggs, are going to come in in two years and make everything better for the long run I'm going to puke. We need a power hitter in left, we need a catcher or Perez needs to be given a chance to fail, and we need a DH. We need big name veterans at those 2 or 3 positions. Now.

We haven't been to the WS since 2002, this is the future that everyone is always so worried about trading away. They should do anything to get better than last year and they were very good last year. How great would Dee Gordon look for us? How about James Shields? 9-10 more wins and 1st place right now, maybe?
