I wonder. Just looking back to 2002. And maybe there is a loophole.
But if they DL'd say Weaver. Who can they replace him with? The 2002 loophole was the reason why Krod was able to get on the postseason roster after someone went on the DL.
Probably can't. But just fun to speculate.
That loophole got closed because now anyone in the organization as of September 1st can be on the playoff roster, instead of having to be on the 40-man roster.

I wonder if that play was a sign Gia's vision still isn't quite right. It wasn't overly difficult and he made it look impossible, barely even moving until the ball was past him. I know he's not good defensively at the best of times but that was a little worrying.
Probably reading too much into it, the guy is hitting the ball really well. Just a bad play because he isn't good on defense/

Latos still throws pretty hard, is only 27 and before this year was a good mid rotation starter. He will definitely get signed by someone.

Beltre just grounded into a game ending double play.

I'd love to crap on the Pats but ESPN is really hit or miss on the journalism, so I'll wait a little while before the pitchforks comes out. This does show the conflict of interest that results in an owner hiring a commissioner. I am not sure how it would work differently as it is already difficult for the players and owners to agree on anything but in a way I am surprised that this type of favoritism doesn't happen more often.

Pretty hard for the Kings to do anything with the Richards and Voynov crap going on. But I would rather eat some money on Brown in a trade then let Kopi go. I'm not too worried about it right now but ask me again in a couple of months with no extension and I will probably be in a much different mindset.

Pujols and Giavotella on the left side of the infield should be interesting.

Gubi has such a heart-on for Gia's heroics. Jesus. Every game. Hey dumb ass, we are in a 9-game losing streak.
Nine game road losing streak.

Thanks for the people who brought up Fred Roggin, I had tried to suppress the memories of him trying to call a Galaxy game on the radio. That was far more painful than Roger Lodge's general dumbassery.

He's 5 for 5 in steals and at the very least he will be a better pinch runner than Featherston. His numbers are good against lefties this season in very limited at-bats so maybe he gets some starts against them.

I am very curious to see what happened here with Richards. If he would have been arrested, I would think that news would have come out when it happened. If he wasn't, I'm not sure what would be bad enough to terminate the contract but yet not be arrested.

The Azores one I have heard before but didn't know it got that far along. In the end, Portugal's dictator chose correctly when he allowed the Brits and later the Americans to build air bases out there. Now the American air base has a skeleton crew because Americans don't need to refuel too often over the Atlantic. But that base won't be given up because the Chinese want it, their premier made a pit stop a couple of years ago to check it out, that did not go over too well with the locals. They like to complain about the Americans but that tune would change real quick if China set up shop.

Every year I am stunned with the knowledge Arte Moreno is a billionaire. He has flushed probably $500 million down the toilet since buying the Angels.
How the hell did this guy ever become wealthy?
Not even close. With a new TV deal, a usually close to full stadium he is doing just fine. Remember the value of the club has gone up at least 500 million since he bought it.

Crazy.
I was just there in July.
How scary.
My cousin spent the New Year in Paris, just got back this weekend. I haven't heard from him yet but I am sure he is a little spooked by it.

Has any good ever come from politicians using social media? It never seems to go well though there must be examples to the contrary. Right?
Cory Booker got elected to the Senate partially through his social media. Normally Mayors of Newark get arrested, not promoted.

here's my idea. let athletes be paid for selling their autograph or let them be paid for each jersey of theirs that is sold. figure out an agreed upon wage for all of them so it's reasonably fair. put the money in some kind of trust fund, and then once they leave school, write them a check with interest.
The players who need money need it now not necessarily when they leave school.

Stradling, I know your area is the OC but have any word on when the In-n-out in Cerritos will be done? The decision to put one there must have been interesting as there is an In-n-out in Norwalk only about a mile and a half away.

Long Beach Town Center is the one I go to the most.

The delivery issues along with the very early printing time means this paper is probably going to die in a few months.

Kashkari has less than a million dollars in his campaign account in California that's chump change. GOP is concentrating on the legislature to try to get over 1/3 in each house, they don't have the money to contest the statewide races.

well utilized by KC..........
Not tonight and not really on Tuesday.

Pedro is actually pretty good as a commentator and is rightly ripping Yost. And don't compare him to Mota, he is much more understandable.

Yearly? There are mass shootings nearly every day. I saw on Twitter today, not sure if it is accurate, but this is the 45th school shooting this year.
