  1. What's scary is some idiot will offer him a better contract.
  2. According to Sports Hochi, the Rakuten Golden Eagles are prepared to offer Masahiro Tanaka $8 million to stay with the team next season. The $8 million salary would be the largest single-season salary ever for a Nippon Professional Baseball player, per Patrick Newman of NPB Tracker. Tanaka has expressed his desire to play in MLB next season, but his Japanese club isn't ready to relent just yet. Even if he isn't posted this offseason, the 25-year-old will be able to leave after the 2015 season. At this point it's just a matter of when -- not if -- he makes the jump to the U.S.
  3. I agree also we need to get a #3 for the rotation and count on some major bounce back years from some key players. I hope it happens.
  4. A big league general manager who doesn't plan on pursuing Masahiro Tanaka is positive that the Japanese free agent pitcher will get more than $100 million. "I don't think there's any doubt," the GM told CBS Sports' Jon Heyman. Tanaka's situation is almost resolved, as a new posting system has been accepted and Tanaka himself has told the Rakuten Eagles that he'd like to play in America next season. The new system features a $20 million maximum bid, which perturbs the Eagles, who voted against the legislation. It wouldn't be a surprise if half of MLB ponied up the $20 million to reserve a date with Tanaka's agent.
  5. From Rotowold According to Sanspo.com, Rakuten Golden Eagles owner Hiroshi Mikitani will allow Masahiro Tanaka to be posted this offseason. The news, though not official, was passed along by Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times. There have been some doubts about whether Tanaka would be posted this winter, with one recent report suggesting that the Rakuten Golden Eagles were planning to convince him to stick around for another year, but they will apparently grant him his wish and let him come to MLB. The new posting system has a maximum bid of $20 million, so we'd be surprised if the number of teams involved in negotiations doesn't go over double-digits. The Yankees, Cubs, Angels, Dodgers and Diamondbacks are among the teams expected to be in the mix

I sure hope I don't get any of those warning points on your site as I'm sure you remember I like to mix it up from time to time...lol... Old Screen name... 9. I think it was a good trade not great , It all depends on how these two lefty's pan out. With the Hamilton and Pujols contracts this is the way we will have to go for awhile. I only hope Pujols and Hamilton get back to some form of their former selves. If they do we could do well but we need pitching. Trumbo had good power but those slumps killed me and most of his homers came when we really didn't need them. We can find another bat hopefully one that plays better defense. Left handed pitching is harder to come by.
  10. Hello everyone !!! Long time Angel fan and poster was posting with Chuckyyy and Delnoce , Mark H, Halo , Carl and several others on the old L.A. Times board. Then we became the L.A. Times refugees and Chuckyyy started up this site. I sure miss the fun and memories of the the times we shared on those old boards, Sure do miss those day. I have been a fan of the Angels since the Cowboy's days. I remember watching Reggie Jackson play for the Angels and Nolan Ryan pitch for us in his youth. Players I got to watch wearing the Angels uniform growing up outside of Ryan and Jackson were ... Bruce Bochte , Rod Carew , Micky Rivers , Jim Fregosi , Sandy Alomar , Bobby Bonds, Don Baylor , Bobby Grich, Frank Tanana , Mike Witt , Doug Decinces and Bob Boone and so so many more. I have stayed in touch with Chukyyy through facebook and visited the site here several times. I have had chuckyyy log me in a few times but have never been able to log back in. So I created a new I.D. and hope to post more in the future. Can any of you old posters remember who I am? Anyway looking forward to spending more time on these boards.
