  1. why is the chart below average in '13? in my opinion he did great last year!
  2. how or why are the Twins going to DFA Samuel Deduno. that guy can pitch. for all the names in that list I would get Samuel.
  3. this reminds me of a post I posted a month ago where I suggested that Pujols should be a full-time DH... I completely understand the win now mentality but we shall also not forget the future.
  4. So paying Albert Pujols is over 30 year old and only way is down is okay to pay over 20 mill but we can't pay a young future #1 pitcher that we absolutely need about 20 mill?
  5. Unfortunately I didn't. I had to sit those game out and watch at home, I was barely 8. I remember hearing the jets soaring threw anaheim
  6. Remember all the grandma had the sign that said "I'm Timmys G-Ma" lol... Perfect environment!
  7. Nothing compares to live. I had great seats too, right behind the catcher. 2 levels up..
  8. Everyone went nuts every at bat he had.
  9. Went to Tim Salmon's last game? I did, best game I've attended thus far!
  10. who is the front-runner for Tanaka? Its been a while since we've heard news....
  11. A Nationals v. Angels World Series would be EPIC!
  12. That's why I posted this, we needed something FRESH.
  13. Would you rather have us wait and see Tanaka get signed to another team and rush to Garza and either over pay or get out bid then getting 1 of the players I mention for more than we could of got them in the first place. TANAKA is ideal but sadly his story to me is bidding and location war and were short stacked. If we sign a veteran and let our young arms battle it out and have a vet for insurance while still being able to fix our bullpen and save some cash for Trouts extension. Its simple if we know we have a slight or no chance then, MOVE ON!
  14. Mike Trout hands down. Lets debate though, have a free mind!
  15. Sign Hammel/ Malhom then sign Yoon for starter depth and pen then add the stud pen guy Grant Balfour and call this a wrap.
  16. That's a lot of dough your talking about though. What about our bullpen?
  17. That's why we shouldn't wait for the fireworks and act quickly but smartly.
  18. I say move on, sign Jason Hammel or Bronson Arroyo then go sign Suk-Min Yoon and Balfour and extend Trout. Call it an off season.
  19. I'm willing to budge on trading Aybar for some pitching then addressing the SS some other time. I would consider it now as Drew is a very interesting player.
  20. At this point we all pray and hope that we get Tanaka, but let us be realistic because we need to be.... We need a player who can fill our #3 spot and eventually be our ace in the forecoming years for when the terrible days that Jered Weaver starts to regress. I absolutely think Tanaka can be that guy. But at the end, let the bad news set in as many clubs are interested in his service. I was reading, a week ago, a article that the Cubs are willing to go all out for Tanaka ( that doesn't involve the heavy spending Yankees, the sneaky Dodgers, and etc. ). As I understand we don't have lots of cash to spend as well as I think this will come down to a bidding and location war. In summary, there's a slight chance we land him. Are we going to wait for the domino affect to happen? As soon as Tanaka is signed, every other pitcher is rare hot bread! And its going to get pricey-ugly to the point of killing the Tanaka/Garza idea. People suggest Garza as he is a very solid 3 spot but are you willing to pay a guy who seems to be cursed with injuries and when someone like Tanaka is a couple mill away. No thank you! That idea quickly exited this post! So what do we do then? As hard as it seems to understand I say we act fast and stay clear of the Tanaka show and grab us a good veteran who is capable to man the 3 spot for a year till the Angels decide ( 1. Paul Malhom 2. Bronson Arroyo 3. Jason Hammel 4. Chris Capuano ). Many will disagree but I have read articles that Tyler Skaggs is ready to go. I personally wouldn't put him in the rotation right away but if the guy just absolutely tears it up, it would be difficult to send him down. And if we get a big name player like, Garza or Tanaka, it would just make it so hard sit them down (too much money on the bench is beyond idiotic) as it would be to sit a vet and have depth. So now we would have young studs with a veteran arm to insure any slacking pitchers while saving us a couple of pennies to shift our attention to the biggest concern, Mike Trout's extension! We can now extend Trout and add on some stud pen guys and call this off-season a good one. This is my plan and opinions to close out the off-season moves. Thank you for reading and happy holidays!
  21. I wanna weigh the options. I'm a guy who likes to have all my options open. 1. The first option is of course to try to land Tanaka. I believe that we need a 2 to 3 guy who layer can be our ace ass who can uphold the torch when Weaver begins to regress. I thought CJ could have been and still has the potential but at times he slumps and I don't want that from my ace. So if we can get a young arm who can be that like Tanaka, that would be awesome. His stuff is great, not a Yu Darvish but has the up side to be great. The problem here is the money. There has to be a ton of teams in the sweep stakes, I'm sure we would be outbidded. Tanaka has to want to come here or we would have to do something so drastic ( I don't know what though). 2. We can get Garza and to be honest he would be too expensive too. I rather go full force to Tanaka then settle for Garza. 3. This an option I would consider. How about we trap a veteran ( Paul Malhom, Bronson Arroyo, Chris Capuano, Jason Hammel ). The money wouldn't be so much. I see as we have 3 good prospect at the moment ( Richards, Skaggs, Santiago ) all can be awesome. We honestly don't know how well Skaggs will do but lets say he tears it up at ST. Do you want to keep him in the minors or put him in the rotation? See with that note a veteran would be better than a guy we paid 20 mill. And now we have wiggle room to extend Trout and sign some pen guys ( Yoon, Balfour ). We can different ways and I just hope Jerry does what is good for the team and not just get anyone.
  22. 2/10 sounds reasonable to me. Wouldn't take us out of the Tanaka sweep stakes. I think if we sign this guy and turn around and sign Tanaka then this off season would be by a success. That's the best case scenario though.
  23. I agree on the fact that we have depth it just all needs to come together but to be on the safe side I would maybe pick up someone.
