  1. why doesn't he get any love around here? You guys will settle for a #4 starter for him when in reality HK can be one of the best 2nd basemen in the game. It makes No sense to me!
  2. Aybar for Niese? The mets would be getting the edge on that trade.
  3. It was a way better idea than tryna sign a guy that could have a heart attack on the field (Ibanez)
  4. Agreed! That traded had made the Yanks very dangerous. They still have Soriano on the bench and they're weak there so I'm curious to know why they rejected.
  5. Too much flipping and matching here.
  6. I would rather Yankee the Astros of Morse before messing with Ibanez.
  7. When guy is healthy he can rake! And his value is high in being able to play outfield and first! I would give him a 1 year! Maybe 2.
  8. Astros should take a hike, this is seriously the guy we were wanting in my opinion!
  9. keep an out for that guy. Has not be mention on here and we might or maybe we should think about him. He had a terrible year by far but he had a hot start. Definitely can rebound and he can play OF/1B/DH. Has a lot of power as well.
  10. We are.just getting older and older and less athletic... Idk how.to fell about this move.
  11. [X] Trade Trumbo for SPs [> ] Booster the pen [ ] Get a 1st Basemen/DH [ ] Get a catcher *- FA Pickups **- Trades AL Format: Catcher: *John Buck/Chris Ianneta 1 Base: *Corey Hart or *Logan Morrison 2 Base: Howie Kendrick 3 Base: David Frese Short Stop: Erik Aybar Right Field: Cole Calhoun/JB Shuck Center Field: Mike Trout Right Field: Josh Hamilton DH: Albert Pujols Bench: Hank Conger & 1. Jered Weaver 2. CJ Wilson 3. *Chris Capuano (OR: *Paul Malhom or *Jason Hammel or *Bruce Chen or *Erik Bedard) 4. Hector Santiago 5. Garret Richards/Tyler Skaggs & - Joe Smith - *Chad Gaudin (OR: *Oliver Perez) - *Fransico Rodriguez (OR: Adrew Bailey) Set-Up: *Chris Perez Closer: Ernesto Freiri NL Format: Catcher: *John Buck/Chris Ianneta 1 Base: Albert Pujols 2 Base: Howie Kendrick 3 Base: David Frese Short Stop: Erik Aybar Right Field: *Corey Hart or *Logan Morrison Center Field: Mike Trout Right Field: Josh Hamilton Bench: Hank Conger - JB Shuck -Cole Calhoun & 1. Jered Weaver 2. CJ Wilson 3. *Chris Capuano (OR: *Paul Malhom or *Jason Hammel or *Bruce Chen or *Erik Bedard) 4. Hector Santiago 5. Garret Richards/Tyler Skaggs & - Joe Smith - *Chad Gaudin (OR: *Oliver Perez) - *Fransico Rodriguez (OR: Adrew Bailey) Set-Up: *Chris Perez Closer: Ernesto Freiri Pujols to me needs to be DH. His coming off injuries, his up there in age, when he played 1st he looked like an old man, and i just want him to focus on hitting the ball than playing defense. That way he can be injury-free and have tons of energy to survive the season. As shown above when we are in a NL format then i think we should put him at 1st and put (if we get Corey Hart or Logan Morrison) in the outfield. Pujols gets his reps at 1st still but only NL formats. i think we should approach him as the Red Soxs did with Big Papi (shown to work). I think the Calhoun & Shuck, who ever gets the nod drama, is totally up to the coaching staff. I'm quite happy if JB starts or if Cole starts. Of course Cole has the more upside but in my opinion JB has something to offer and shouldn't be shunned from at-bats. The Conger and Ianetta duo to me worked (at times) but most times the defense lacked so vastly that it ruined the idea. In my opinion i think that the catcher position needs to be a legit leader and have pop in his bat, hence i proposed a duo of Buck/Ianetta. John Buck was hot the 1st month then fell of, i think he can supply a bit of offense but his a bit more defensive and is a great leader. he works well with pitchers (Harvey for example and the rest of that core). As well i think that we MIGHT need another veteran presence in the rotation, we can't have Jered & CJ be the only ones. We desperately need to improve the pen, I'm shaky at times with Ernesto but i don't want him to lose his closer role but have competition and pick up a stud in the pen and a couple of cheap arms. I think that should be done NOW.
  12. All of our attention should be at 1st base when we trade Trumbo. Outfielders are over-priced at the moment and only big names (no money to sign) are out there. Meaning we should strongly consider Pujols at the DH spot. He would conserve energy and risk free of injury.
  13. I'm going to look into the point of view of Angels_Baseball in trading JB instead of Calhoun but I would assume the D-Backs would want him as part of deal... If we can trade Mark Trumbo/Chris Ianetta/JB Shuck for Tyley Skaggs/Wade Miley/Miguel Montero, and sign Corey Hart, and then sign Oliver Perez and Grant Balfour (just sign a a stud pen guy with other descent or capable of being good). All of our needs can be easily resolved. This moves can happen. Our line-up would look a little like this: --- AL Format --- Catcher: Miguel Montero/ Hank Conger 1st Base: Corey Hart 2nd Base: Howie Kendrick 3rd Base: David Freese Short Stop: Erik Aybar Right Field: Cole Calhoun Center Field: Mike Trout Right Field: Josh Hamilton DH: Albert Pujols & 1. Jered Weaver 2. CJ Wilson 3. Wade Miley 4. Garret Richards 5. Tyler Skaggs & - Joe Smith - Oliver Perez - Ernesto Frieiri - Grant Balfour --- NL Format --- Catcher: Miguel Montero/ Hank Conger 1st Base: Albert Pujols 2nd Base: Howie Kendrick 3rd Base: David Freese Short Stop: Erik Aybar Right Field: Corey Hart Center Field: Mike Trout Right Field: Josh Hamilton & 1. Jered Weaver 2. CJ Wilson 3. Wade Miley 4. Garret Richards 5. Tyler Skaggs & - Joe Smith - Oliver Perez - Ernesto Frieiri - Grant Balfour That's a winning recipe right there.
  14. He shouldn't want much. We should be able to snag him...
  15. All I'm saying is if I have to start Shuck because we traded Calhoun for SPs I would. Shuck is not horrible in my eyes like everyone else proceeds to make him.
  16. Yeah I like Hart a lot as well. I traded for him in my fantasy baseball last year. It wasn't successful as he missed all of last year but the guy is a good hitter and I love that fact that he can play 1st and outfeild. I'm just scared that the D-Backs or anyone for that instance would want Trumbo alone.
  17. Sorry to disagree again friend but I think Trumbo ain't a bad defender. I would stick him at 1st for the sole purpose of having Pujols be safe from aggravating his injury and conserving his energy as his a vet. Can very well still play 1st but just to be on the safe side there's still 2015 and beyond to think about not just 2014.
  18. But see that's where the fun happens. I propose and promote that we trade Trumbo and Calhoun or Shuck for SPs (for example Wade Miley and Tyler Skaggs, we can even see if they would trade us Miguel Montero). Who ever stayed from Calhoun or Shuck would start so now it would be looking like Shuck or Calhoun with Trout and Hamilton. And that's a great outfeild to me while still fixing our #1 hole in pitching and even maybe stretching to fix the catcher spot. You might what about 1st base. We would then have to sign a 1 basemen (as I strongly promote having Pujols at the DH). Maybe signing Corey Hart to to 1st and when were in NL Format we would scramble Hart to outfeild and Pujols to 1st. That has to be ideal.
  19. Just the sole fact that could get on base and had potential on stealing bases. His average is quiet good and 60 runs in a offense where they didn't live up to their respectful hype. Just imagine the offense clicks on all cylinders! Like I've said cents above I would be happy with Cole or JB. This decision is too narrow and too tight. We can go on for days but the sole fact I have JB starting is because I think Cole should he used as a trading chip with Trumbo for SPs! I'm happy both way though.
  20. Its your opinion that his 5th but to me he can be started. I wouldn't start him as DH. Just because I have a lust on my DH being nothing but a power surge. I think we should trade Trumbo with Calhoun for Tyler Skaggs and Wade Miley ass turn Around and sign Corey Hart. And then stack the pen. Put Pujols as DH... Start Hart at 1st. Start Shuck in the outfeild. Also Hart can start at outfeild so when the halos visit the NL we can place Hart outfeild Pujols at 1st and have Shuck bench.
  21. JB is not as bad as you guys make him seem. His an okay player. At this point ok should be fine with us as we desperately need pitchers. But Calhoun is fine as well. Idk that decision is up to the coaching staff. Its a tough one.
  22. I agree with you a 100% but I'm thinking long term. If Pujols can conserve energy and just focus on batting then it would help us long term. I just think we need to approach the Pujols idea like the Red Soxs have with David Ortiz.
