one thing i saw prjected him at a 3+ ERA assuming he translates in the same way Darvish did... which isnt bad, but also inst worth 100+ Million at least not to me.

basically he would be about the same as Garza or Kuroda... would you pay 100 mil for either of those guys?

sure he might do better, but thats a huge gamble

Difference being that half of that 100 plus mil won't count against the lux tax and we don't lose a draft pick. Plus he is younger than both.

I go back and forth on if I want to make a 5yr commitment to a pitcher in this class. The only ones I would consider is Garza and Tanaka for sure.

I'm starting to warm up to the idea of getting Garza. At least you know he'll be an above average starter for a few years.

I like Jimenez quite a bit too but that's a big risk.

I dare you to find a team with 4 extra starters who the can depend on for a quality start.

So it looks like Hellickson has 3yrs worth of control left. What would it take to grab him from TB? His K's per 9 have been going up and his walks per 9 have gone down. I know they need a 1b but I don't know if I want to trade Trumbo now. Era and whip has increased as well

Its longer than we'd like.. sure. The market for SS is weak this year, Peralta had the leverage here.

But what is the alternative? Send Shelby Miller to Baltimore for one year of JJ Hardy? Send Martinez, Miller, and Craig to Colorado for Tulo? Sign Stephen Drew who provides very little upgrade over Kozma and lose a draft pick?

Cards are a better team now.

I've stopped going to games because I feel like I'm bad luck. Last three have been come from behind victories for the Rangers.

Texas is a great place to live and raise a family but all my friends and co workers have no problem throwing the Rangers recent success in my face any chance they get. Btw it's 30 degrees here today. Lol
