heaney would not even be close to what cj is doing this year....maybe a few years down the road....a lot of this is experience.   not to say the wheels are going to fall off or not in the second half for cj...he is worth something decent if that is the direction they want to go...not sure we could afford it with weaver not missing the big bats.

loved the live arm and curve ball strike out...hopefully can get worked in for the future.  not that excited by two balls out of ~ four going to the warning track.  

definitely trade worthy....so that is a big positve to go along with a win.

luckily staying within 5 or 6 games of hou.     thats good and bad.   could be false sense of how good we are as opposed to how shitty we really are.

the wilson for ethier trade is the only one that makes sense for this year....either our dudes are going to bring it together or they won't and one stud hitter is not the difference.    we wanted to get our of wilson anyway this year if there were takers....here you go.  

now if there was a stud for the future and not just this year....i am for it if it makes sense...although i am resigned to the fact that any body coming to us will be cursed and suck...not remotely living up to the contract given or players given up.

last year angels had that thing late in the year that won games....don't see it yet....maybe a little more time before the sell off...send weaver and wilson to winning teams for ws runs....as a favor to them...at least sell it that way.....reboot next year.

i just hope this does not efffect the budget for players...if he doesn't mind dipping down in numbers but revenue is similar...so be it....i don't know that to be the case for stadium revs??

i like him too...if we were and are to win...guys like this need to pitch in...especially wihh the major slow start of the offense.   the other game where we lost and he tried to stretch a double-liked the effort and every hit he gets late like that increases his and the teams confidence that he will step up whenever needed.

used to think that with his blowups in the 3rd-5th innnings of games after dominating first two innings....but he is kinda proving with this lil sample that he is a solid stud type starter...he is doing so well right now that him alone could have dodgers thinking about him/alex guererro...maybe before the uribe trade.   i think dodgers might be in on hamels

yes i can see ceiling higher...i like him better then skaggs.   great trade.    unfortunately we are looking for a hitter with less pop (trumbo) and we are being asked for two dudes like this.   i am not ok with it....unless its a stud.    i would not give these two back for trumbo btw  

when he is on...he looks like a world beater out there and as good as any 2 on any team....its just when the wheels come off after not gettting a close high leverage call that all hell breaks loose.  kinda my fav pitcher now on angels and rooting hard for his success...its key for us to contend for division...of course along with all the other pitchers and hitters pulling their weight.   santiago is like shomaker last year...nice surprise.

unless the dude is a stud and difference maker...not ok trading away multiple players the represent the depth and future that was just built up by dipoto with solid trades and drafts.      another joyce type doing decent is not worth the pitchers it would take to make it happen.    we need to get to asb to make sure pitching is for real and wheels are not coming off to make it all moot.

i liked wells and rooted hard and thought he would be great.  I think that was one of the first crappy contracts for a team that got to offload the player and only take back so little of the contract.  I was saying only the angels would get a deal like that...horrible.

dodgers making a trade with atl....will cut any chance we have at trading for AlexG...I thought he was obtainable.   

I think one of reasons ratings are bad is because this team is painful to watch...sometimes i just can't do it with all the offensive funk this year and bull pen blow ups last year

it all started when we didn't pay up for beltre when arte thought we were the only bidders....low and behold texas swoops in even when they had young and it put them on the map.   the chane of events from that point are brutal.

some small fixes could have helped....sign cruz.   don't pitch to napoli ever....and now do not pitch to hamilton no matter how ugly his swing and average are.

i do not want to trade our depth unless its for a young stud like a guerrero.   or small talent out and bring back big money contract.   would rather see if our guys figure it out like green etc.     teams like KC seem like they are so far ahead of us...not sure one bat is going to do it...our guys are funking it so bad against even brand new pitchers...its been said here before a new pitcher debuting against us looks like hall of fame first ballet. 

start bringing guys up who are hitting in minors.   10 game lead or fall below 500 a couple games is the line to make some changes that affect some jobs.

i was rooting for him to win mvp of the series....almost had it.

its amazing how that works with our old players against us....we get to test it with texas soon.   just would not pitch to him.   i play around with my kids and say watch this guy hit a homer....they think i am magic...then i start cussing.
