A's 10 - Angels 9
The Angels struck with two early runs, but he A’s rallied to answer each Halo lead taking a 9-7 advantage into the bottom of the ninth. Mike Trout delivered a two-run home run to tie the game but Oakland came back again, scoring the go ahead run in the 11th. You're welcome, but my indifference to superstition may have caused last night’s unfortunate events.I wrote up the game summary as Frieri was tossing his warm ups.
I apologize for the lapse in judgement. It won’t happen again!

Albert Pujols delivered an RBI single and a solo home run to carry a 2-1 lead into the ninth behind starter Hector Santiago’s one run, five hit performance over seven innings. But Oakland spoiled the night for the Halos when John Jaso tagged Ernesto Frieri late for a pinch hit, two-run home run to give the A’s a 3-2 victory.

The Angels offensive assault began early with back-to-back-to-back solo home runs in the first inning off Mets starter Bartolo Colon. The Halos would hit two more homers and pile on 10 more runs behind C.J. Wilson’s third start of year. Wilson earned the win allowing two runs on six hits while striking out nine over seven innings.

Raul Inbanez hammered a two-out three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth off Mets closer Jose Velverde to tie the game in dramatic fashion. But New York catcher Anthony Recker hit a solo shot off Matt Shoemaker’s first pitch of the 13th inning to seal the win for the Mets.

There is a lot of nice information on these scorecards. I just noticed on the right is the team season stats of BA, OPS, ERA and WHIP.
Just added that a few cards in. And I realize LOB is noticeably absent but one look at the sheet tells that story. It might continue to evolve, but these things take a while to produce.
Hoping to do a few graphics heavy periodic stats updates too. It was going to be every 9 games, but I think 27 is a better sample and divides nicely into 162 at 6 updates for the season.

Hank Conger was hit by a 2-2 pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 11th to give the Angels their first home win of the season. J.B. Shuck, appearing in his first game since being called up to replace an injured Josh Hamilton, delivered a key two-run home run in the sixth. The Angels bullpen impressed, allowing just one base runner over four innings.

As many of you might know, Hank Aaron slugged his 715th homer off Dodger pitcher Al Downing. In the broadcast booth that night announcing for the Dodgers was Vin Scully. After pausing for a minute and a half to let his audience listen and savor the moment, he put the event into perspective with this amazing monologue:
"What a marvelous moment for baseball. What a marvelous moment for Atlanta and the state of Georgia. What a marvelous moment for the country and the world. A black man is getting a standing ovation in the Deep South for breaking a record of an all-time baseball idol. And it is a great moment for all of us, and particularly Henry Aaron."
-
Like all of the great broadcasters, Vin comes from the days of radio where you had to be a great story teller. Television, for better and worse, has taken much of that away. Today's broadcasters pause in silence between each pitch waiting for something to happen. Scully fills the void with great stories only to be interrupted by a baseball game.

Watch closely and you'll see Sanchez moves is left foot in front of the plate before he catches the ball. The ump has a clear view of that before repositioning himself to make the call. The runner is safe based on the new rule.

Albert Pujols homered for the second time in as many games leading the Angels to a 2-0 victory behind starter Garrett Richards, who all but shut down the Mariners offense on just one hit, three walks and six strikeouts over seven innings. Joe Smith and Ernesto Frieri came on in relief to complete the combined one-hit shutout.

Awesome. It was a guess. Glad it worked out!

The Angels struck early in the first inning with Albert Pujols’ first home run of the season, a two-run shot scoring Mike Trout. David Freese followed with a solo blast to give the Halo’s a 3-0 lead. But the Mariners struck back in familiar fashion scoring all five of their runs with two outs. Corey Hart picked up four RBI, homering twice.

Starter Jered Weaver gave up just five hits over five and 5 2/3 innings, but four of those hits were home runs leading to a 7-4 victory by the Astros. After scoring 19 runs on 28 hits in the previous two games, Angels batters were kept off balance by Astros starter Scott Feldman through seven. A late five hit rally in the ninth fell short.

In a team to team comparison, I think the Angels received the greatest potential from the trade.
But on a personal level, I couldn't be more pleased for Trumbo. He was being platooned defensively, having no place to root himself in the field. I believe that had something to do with his tendency to be streaky at the plate. The game is a mental marathon and not knowing where — or if — you're going to play day-to-day takes a toll. I hope being grounded as a full time player on the Diamondacks will give him opportunity to become the complete player he's capable of.
Wishing nothing but the best for him. He's more than earned it.

I've updated the first three sheets in the downloads for those who are collecting them.

That Josh Hamilton is going to hit .500 this year, that's awesome. He will probably be the first player to hit .500 on a team that loses every game. Congrats Josh, you lost your MVP to Justin Smoak.
You beat me to it. Indeed, the logic dictates that Ibanez will slug 81 homers, collect 162 RBI and strike out about 400 times. Too bad the Angels will lose 162 games this season.
