Why does Josh Donaldson have to be good at baseball.

I like how Howie just laid there for a bit. I guess when you play with Aybar that long he rubs off on you.
-
Hey lets try running on Reddick next time just to mix it up a bit.
-
Well they managed soul-crushing disappointment in the span of a half inning.
-
wow the stadium actually looks semi-full.

@JeffFletcherOCR: #Angels seem to be skipping Matt Shoemaker, or pushing him back. Wilson, Richards and Skaggs scheduled for Houston.
Not quite sure I understand this. Shoemaker is pitching well and we need to manage the workload on Richards and Skaggs since neither has ever thrown 200 innings.

Oscar Taveras went deep in his 2nd major league at bat. Interesting that they chose to start his clock as opposed to calling Grichuk back.
They also called Grichuk back a day ago.
-
Richards gave up 5 runs and the Halos scored 5. The bullpen should get some blame too.
lol
"bullpen didn't pitch a complete game shutout against the best team in the AL, they suck"

Tarnished silver lining... LeBlanc hasn't been great, but can we really be mad about 4 ER in 6.1 IP against one of the best offenses in baseball from a swingman? This turd is squarely on Richards.
-
It's criminal that they're debating which .900+ OPS guy to send down with a 42 year old that plays shit defense hitting .153 on the roster. I know the Ibanez posts are getting pretty broken-record at this point, but holy hell.

Small glimmer of hope...

For all of you saying that we are at least wildcard contenders...I want to believe we're better than that..but if Richards dosent get his shit straight...we are in deep shit. Who knows if shoemaker can keep up his work...Skaggs hasn't been all that great either
Uh Skaggs has a 1.142 WHIP and 3.97 ERA. He's been great as a back end starter.

7:40pm - first inning ends. *confetti drops from ceiling*
-
We're gonna destroy our bullpen in the first game.
Well, LeBlanc is stretched out as a starter, so we have to hope he makes it through 5+
-
lol at another 4 pitch walk. You've got to be kidding me.
-
Solid start, Richards.
-
Hope the ump plans on giving Richards the same strikezone as Pomeranz.
-
I'm really excited about this game. I might make myself a hotdog.

Not trying to pick a fight here, but there seems to be an awful lot of gloating because he had a great game last night. Whenever someone posts a "trade player X" thread after they have a bad game, they're always roundly (and rightly) mocked. That steal last night was fantastic and incredibly heads-up. But are you guys saying he doesn't make a lot of blunders on the basepaths as well? Or that he's generally a great base-stealer (he's 4-7 in SB attempts this year). Again, I get that I'm in the minority in not liking Aybar's game, but don't gloat over one night/one play because it supports your point.
it's not gloating over him having one exceptional night that's out of the norm, though. You're implying he's a bad baserunner but he's not, he's well above average. He has a 16.6 UBR for his career, and his 3.2 last year was 21st in all of baseball.
Because he makes slides like this: http://m.mlb.com/video/v33106065/kclaa-aybar-beats-throw-home-on-cowgills-single/?query=aybar
and heads up plays like this: http://m.mlb.com/video/v32977363/tblaa-green-drills-rbi-single-to-wall-in-left/?query=aybar
Every player makes an occasional mistake on the basepaths. It sounds like when you see them from Aybar it's just feeding your confirmation bias.

Kole heating up, Trout heating up, Hamilton taking BP again....
-
Ibanez and Cron are both 0 for 3 with a triple. Except Cron failed to drive in a run with a runner on 3rd less than 2 outs, Raul didn't.
Now you're just trolling.

A lot of really good quotes from C.J. and Brandon McCarthy in Kurkjian's article.
