  1. Mauchs legacy, he managed to lose the 1982 playoffs to the Milwaulkie Brewers in a best of 5 after taking the first two games of the series losing three games in a row.

He lost to the Red Sox in 1986 after taking a commanding 3-1 in a best of 7 series losing three games in a row.

He didn't get swept by a wild card team.

If he managed for 20 years and had the pen, he'd have won it .

Tommy John said the 82 team was the best team he played with but the pen was not good .

  2. The "short leash" is also problematic when dealing with Wilson. He could give up three runs in an inning then pitch 1-hit ball for the next six.

What do you do if he gets in trouble in the 2nd inning? Do you take him out right then and there? How many runs is he allowed before he gets removed? Do you want the bullpen to go seven innings today?

Sosh will let him give up 3 runs max.

  3. I throw a big chunk of blame for the loss on Friday at Iannetta. Terrible framing, and two horrid throws to second. How do you not throw out a runner on a pitchout? His throwing is atrocious. I like him at the plate  but not behind it.

Sosh must have missed all that.

He refused to ph Conger for him IN  PERHAPS THE BEST bunting situation of the series .

  4. I would like to see if anyone can tell us all about the post season records of former Angels managers

    Collins

    Lachemann

    Rogers

    Rader

    Rojas

    Mauch

    McNamara

    Fregosi

    Williams

    Winkles

    Rice

    Phillips

    Rigney

Oh, I forgot, most of you weren't Angels fans before Scioscia was the manager.

Using that argument, Lasorda should still be managing the Doyyers today.

Dusty Bakker should still be with the Giants .

  5. Jeesh!

Back in '02, I was approached by a drunk loser who kept saying I was from NoCal.

Even though I carried the red thunder sticks . Good thing he was by himself and he stopped after I stared him down.

He was lucky he stopped . I would have had noi problem knocking him out.

This was outside of the stadium by Orangewood where parking is cheaper and easier to get out .

  6. What is Hamilton in the series so far? 0 for 8?

put Hamilton's ABs from Games One and Two on a video to be watched one after the other........

have folks watch that video -- and then ask the folks who watched the video if Hamilton should start Game Three Sunday -- regardless of who is pitching for KC.

I don't think there's been a player who has had a worse series of ABs in a playoff series than what Hamilton has shown in Games One and Two.  Part of the reason there's not much history with this sort of weak effort at the plate is because a player with ABs like that is usually pulled for a PH before his last AB in Game One and then finds himself on the bench for Game Two.

Andre Dawson when he had one good knee for the Cubs looked better in '89.

  7. I don't think Shields will anywhere close to the first two starters.

I think we'll score some runs on him.

Street might be worn out from the two innings yesteday.

The Royals have not made an announcement who's starting game 4 if necessary.

There might be a glimmer of hope despite Sciosia and the bad hitting/defense.
