Probably 10. Anyone who isnt the Yankees.

Okay, so Street holds some value, still.  But Chatwood does for the Rockies off just as much SP deadline demand this year, too.

I like Chatwood here, but Street can be swapped for an SP from a non-contending team who can then flip him to a contender off that trade deadline demand. If it means the Halos taking back some of Street's salary, sobeit to get it done.  3-way deal opportunity under the circumstance.

They can do this with trading Joe Smith and move Street into setup, instead, but Cam is the closer now!

Even if they bring up Nate Smith to replace Tropeano, this is the best time to move one of either Street or Smith for an SP with Weaver falling off next year.

  2. Yeah, man...you'd have a Hector, Shoemaker, 2 Tylers, and a Cam to rev up this 2016 machine stretch run with.  LOL, but I like it a lot, too!

Does Street yield for a significant relief demand value off this year's deadline?  If so, there's A piece, not THE piece toward making the trade happen.  Colorado will just flip Street for it instead of the Angels.

  3. I said it back in May, Shoe would turn it around.  I also put out the thread, "A Shoe-In For A Trade?"  Forget about trading him, build on him and his prototype through the draft, free agency, or trade, instead; he's remarkable!!

For a trade off the bat to think of for his type, for example: former Angel, from my birth town, Tyler Chatwood.

The Rangers were thought to be out of it getting Cole Hamels for 2016 last year. Instead, they won the Division. Now I'm not saying Chatwood is Hamels.  But what I am saying is that this team WINS fast by such an offense accomodated with an overall effective starting rotation.  And Chatwood, might be of nice ingredient underscore added to the mix here after Tropeano down.

Street for Chatwood, allowing Colorado to deal the trade deadline relief market?

Nasty Cam (Ohhhh, love that nickname!) would move into close.

Terry's doing TV with Guby tonight.

He mentioned the Angels have won 70% of the games this year when they score first.

Let's have a good night Shoe.

What a treat to listen to Klauke on the radio end right now!

That sux about Cron!  Seems like whenever the Halos get going this good they have to pay the price with key player injured.  Fractured hand, are you kidding me??!!

  5. Angels come to within 2 to Boston, Scioscia puts in Smith to start off the bottom of the 7th...leaves him in there with the bases loaded, 0 out.  Smith was getting tattered after the 2nd battter. With them loaded, down by 3, I thought he was coming out to the step to pull him!  Nope, for the shift only, down by 5!!

I feel comfortable saying Smith could compete at the big league level right now as a starter.

There's a 99% chance Alcantara ends up as a reliever in the big leagues. His mechanics are extremely shaky and he lacks a 3rd pitch. This is not to knock the guy as I believe he has a very good chance to become a good late innings arm but he's no starter, regardless of what the Angels think.

    Are you sure about that?

You gotta love the in between minor league inning's contests!  That looks pretty surreal for a June 6, Travs game hosting, for example.

Might want to uncross your fingers and read the Sports page this morning....

I don't mean to pee on anybody's parade here, but SHUT THEM DOWN FOR THE SEASON.  There's no pressure on them, just play out the season with what you have now, and come back next year. Unfortunate and frustrating with the development as is, considering the promising depth that was showing even, protect your assets instead.

Richards, the club’s 28-year-old ace, was considered “asymptomatic,” Eppler added, and he is scheduled to be reevaluated in six weeks.

    HUH??? Asymptomatic????

Asymptomatic means the person has recovered from a condition and no longer has symptoms.

So Richards shows no sign of a torn ligament????

Sounds like voodoo magic or B.S.

That might be encoraging, yet discouraging.  "A" preceding any word in medical terms usually signals bad or threatening, rather.  ALS, Lou Gerhig's Disease, for example - Amyotropic Lateral Sclerosis - which "myotrropic" is muscle.

  9.  The best moment's opportunity to sieze for Shoe is NOW, not in the off-season, by his present bargain value.  Texas, who lost 60% of their rotation recently, with abundant offense, will probably give up Profar for him.  Would you want him with Simmons as your middle infield years ahead?  That is just scratching at the surface with this discussion, too.

    I can see it happening.

What are some contending teams that desperately need SP?

At that value and performance since May 11, shot out of a cannon, all contenders across the board want him!

Most impressive is the pitching efficiency and stamina he's developing for in the process. The Angels have a high-priced leverage for him under the present conditions.

Yet, at 29, should they be building off him, instead?

  11. I've vented about Scioscia's handling of Shoe this month.  Ironically, he's at such a value right now that we'll see some interesting names floating about for him.  Any contender wants that while Eppler is in a unique, opportunistic position of fielding offers, at a high price.  The farm is bare, we know that, now they must ponder whether to trade him.

Look at what happened in Shoemaker's last start against the same team at the same pitch count.

Hey Jeff, pleasure to talk baseball with a beat writer!  In Houston that is much more hitter friendly than Anaheim.  Scioscia is apparently unafraid with appealing too an overtaxed bullpen in the process.  Shoe has been their best pitcher, with a sneaky fastball.  You still say you wouldn't have taken the chance on him to get through 7 IP there under the present bullpen condition?  Scioscia will probably still prevail at the end, he's a good skipper, but he's rather blowing away opportunities of not seeing Shoe through, too, for being such an ACE.  He did the same thing with him against Cleveland, June 11.

  13. 6 IP tonight, 99 pitches.  Santiago, 6 IP yesterday, 116 pitches.  Why did he take out Shoe?  I was listening to the game on the way home that Scioscia put Morin in there with a 2-0 lead for it to evaporate.  Too much credence, confidence building he's giving his taxed bullpen there, agree?
