  1. Walks count towards PAs, which is what batting titles are based off of. This thread is discussing the possibility of Trout as MVP, which there is no minimum ABs or PAs for. This was already all covered above.
  2. I see Penny had an awesome game today. Glad to see the team still came out on top.
  3. Adam Dunn is a good offensive comp for him. Chris Davis is another. Lots of HRs and walks, but a sh*t ton of strikeouts.
  4. Kids are stupid. Most of them are fair weather front runners when a team hasn't been engrained in or past down to them.
  5. Lots of fancy kicks in that picture. Almost like they coordinated with each other so that nobody else had the same pair.
  6. WeatherMan would have been pretty good for Trout.
  7. Rendon last 6 games: .222 BA, 1 double 0 HR, .641 OPS. What a bum.
  8. Yeah Lou, it was crazy of you to think those three players would be an actual viable trade proposal. Those three and no one else right?
  9. He's not giving up a single cent. If he does walk early, it'll be with deferred money or an under the table sort of payout.
  10. That's besides the point. It's a hitter's league so not surprising. The thought is that playing 1/2 your games in a park that's similar to Angel stadium, hitters may form habits that might translate better in the bigs.
  11. Seriously find a new AAA affiliate Angels. You're not doing the hitters any favors by playing in a park that's no where near similar to Angel stadium.
  12. Except he had two of his best years, including an MVP after his home run derby performance.
  13. You're the only one that's taking those 3 names as the actual trade proposal. No one has ever said that's all the Angels would need to give up. And you're insulting my reading comprehension? Haha.
  14. What trade? It was a proposal to open a line of communication. Who knows what else they'll want.
  15. I never said I don't value his defense. Only when it comes to WAR I can't take it at face value, when defensive metrics aren't 100% reliable.
  16. If he continues to have a monster season, he'll show why WAR shouldn't be the end all be all stat. His WAR total will only be 1-1.5 higher than in 2014, yet this season will trump that year by miles. Also, his other seasons wouldn't even have reach 1 WAR extrapolated to a full season.
  17. What happened the other years? Also that year he had an OPS+ of 125. Was that even top 30?
  18. Who cares about the term being used. My point is everyone is treating him like a top tier, super star, elite, etc... player. I said he's had good seasons before, but nothing like this. In a year where the offensive breakthroughs have to be met with at least a little skepticism. Look, the trade will never happen, but I'm with the OP that it is a creative way to help both teams. Yes the Nats can trade prospects for relievers, but we as Angels fans should know that continuing to weaken your farm to go "all in" isn't very wise for sustained success. Why not trade from your major league surplus to get a more balanced team and keep your future in tact.
  19. I don't consider that elite level when it's been inconsistent and boosted by defense. Simmons has had similar WAR seasons. I don't consider him an elite overall player. Elite defensively, maybe the best? Yeah sure, but not elite overall.
  20. Which is starting to validate what he did last year, elite back end reliever. Rendon has been elite for 1/2 season. Talk in this thread would make one assume he's on Arrenado, Bryant, Machado, Donaldson level. He's not.
  21. People have seem to given Rendon credit as an elite level player even though he's only done it for 1/2 a season. Yes he's had good seasons before, but nothing like this. Face it, offense has been up overall with many players having breakout seasons.(for some reason this doesn't apply for the Angels) If you're going to view him as that player, you also have to view Bedrosian as an elite reliever. What he's done last year and this year rivals most top end relievers. He's also club controlled for 2 more years than Rendon. With all that said, him alone obviously won't get it done because Rendon plays 3rd base. Closers are getting paid ridiculous money now a days and the Nats could be getting one(plus more) that's club controlled for years. I think the Nats should be at least intrigued by that.
