By any measure - WAR, championships won, versatility - Ruth is the better player. Trout would have to have a massive resurgence to even come close at this point. He has almost 100 WAR to close the gap. Does anyone think that could really happen? Ten 10 WAR seasons? We wish. BTW Ruth had an amazing 1.214 post season. Can’t argue with that.

I’ll do the board a favor since some seem to think I’m not a “real” fan since I dare criticize the elephants in the room. Bet on the other team in every game between now and the end of the season, unless Ohtani is throwing. Thank me later. You can be a fan and still profit from their lack of effort. It’s just a game. Take care of your family first.

Name one all time great who hit .287 in the late season, consistently. Yeah, three close games where he needed to step up. By all appearances he’s a nice guy and family man and I respect that. Especially given his money and fame he didn’t go off the rails. But unless he picks it up he is out of the goat discussion. When is the last time he was able to complete a season?

I was all for trading him way back when. He proved early on he’s a world class choker. 1 career hit in the playoffs and sub .100 batting average lol . Go look at his splits: batting average by month. Peaks in May and BA goes down every month after that, consistently. Same with RISP. Contrast that with Cabrera who hit a game winning HR in his first mlb game EVER and led the Marlins to their first WS win in his rookie season. Some have the fire, some don’t. At least he’ll be ready for bow season which is apparently his favorite October activity. Mine too. Hunting elicits far more passion than baseball.

Yes they were. I bet on five games in a row before that game and was right every time, several thousand in total bets, and stated BEFORE the game I thought the Angels would win that one. I studied team patterns, the Rangers seem to lay down when they already have the win in a series, and the Angels panic and win one game out of a series over and over. The Rangers won the first two and lost the last game in the previous two series, one against the lowly A’s. Team psychology is real.

Take advantage against this Rays team

Please. Is not unusual for relationships like that in Latin America. When I worked in Brazil half the married guys had young women on the side. Like really young. Same in Japan but they’re a little more discreet. It was disturbing. MLB had to act outraged, once it quiets down he’ll be back. Not saying I personally approve but with his $$ it will all go away. -

This was the year to try, despite the long odds. It didn’t work, so focus on re-signing Ohtani. If that fails, work on rebuilding and drafting well. Once Rendon is off the books you can start to compete. There is no magic fix, we need to take our time instead of grasping at straws year after year. -
Because I don’t engage in group think I’m a troll? Hint: I’ve been insulted a lot more than I’ve handed it out. I don’t need to be popular but if differing opinions are considered trolling then this world be a really lame forum. Good for them for not being lame and allowing different voices. But maybe I know something. How did I know, and stated as such, that the team would do better tonight than in the first two games and not to bet against them despite Detmers recent performance?

Don’t you have some women to look up online? Or maybe their families.

Too long a list. Anyone who doesn’t completely choke or get “hurt” every time it really matters.
