  1. Shohei Ohtani should do what's best for Shohei Ohtani. He and Trout, actually. Orange County living is quite nice, but not what it used to be. And the Angels organization has shown me very little in the way of evaluating, acquiring or developing talent over the last several years, so I doubt we'd get an equitable deal in a Ohtani or Trout trade scenario. The Duffy's, Velazquez', Wade's McKinnon's, Mayfield's, etc of the world don't move the needle and I think we're in the bottom third of quality farm prospects. Still, If he likes OC living, meets a nice girl and wants to stay-- hoping the organization can field a competitive team-- he should stay & will be a very wealthy man.... If he wants to align with an organization that's had more success in assembling winning teams, then he should leave, and he will be a very wealthy man.
  2. I cannot see turning down $440M unless you just don't want to play in Washington any longer. How much does one need? There has to be a saturation point-- where there isn't much more you can do with $450 or $500M than you otherwise can't do with $440M. and the Angels have very little to pursue Soto, so I'd sit this one out ...And they may likely be faced with similar dilemma if Ohtani turns down a extension, so I'd save my money for that.
  3. And the teams that have figured out how to routinely strike gold in the yearly international free agent free-for-all are right there with them.
  4. I had a long chat with DirecTV CS and they seem to think that I should be able to add out-of-market Bally's stations for 13.99/month. The satellite DTV offers this, but the streaming DTV doesn't (yet, but they're working on it)... In theory, I should be able to get DTV 692 with that set-up in my Midwest dish service.
  5. I'm moving from Orange County to the Midwest this week. Anyone have experience on how out-of-market fans can still watch Angel broadcasts on TV... (and LA Kings Hockey broadcasts too)? I'm willing to keep my DTV Bally satellite service if that's what it takes...and I'm willing to consider any alternative options-- even if they are only loosely ethical.
