This is a decent return for only a month of Castro.  Power arm with 97-99 FB.  There's some upside as a bullpen piece.

You can't expect much for a 25 game rental catcher that isnt hitting in a fake season.
Simmons might bring a bit if the Angels pay some of his salary otherwise it will be more of the same.

Thanks...as I knew Espinoza was in recovery (for his second TJ surgery) but was unaware regarding Lawson. Also, (after doing some checking) expecting Patino back in return might be unrealistic as well...

We are not getting Patino for Jason Castro. Being in SD, I follow the Padres quite a bit and they are getting Castro to platoon with Hedges. Mejia seems like the odd man out there, especially with Campusano in the wings. He would be a homerun if we were able to get him but I highly doubt it; Pads might use him in a bigger deal for pitching.
It's going to be cash, PTBNL, or some marginal/high ceiling_low floor type guy.

Hopefully the angels trade Simmons, too. Just clear house and stock up on young arms.
