I no longer see a plausible argument for Trout. Not only did Bregman continue playing out of his mind since mid July, he has actually improved all of his metrics since Trout was pulled.
Seeing as how the Astros would sweep the AL awards with an MVP, what are the odds that a close vote sways towards Bregman because of the added narrative?
Bregman is fortunate that he'll get to face the Angels seven more times. If his production is in any way a continuation of his last two months, he'll pass Trout. He has been Trout-esque since the break.
I think everyone knows where the MVP is going. For his remaining 11 games, Bregman is about to tee off on three of the worst rotations in baseball.
