  1. 4 walks and 6 hits and nobody scores, reminds me of the Angels (minus the plate discipline)
  2. Holy shit we might have a 1-2-3 inning on our hands!
  3. Gotta love Hanson's 3.00 WHIP with a 0 ERA this game, I'm sure that's sustainable!
  4. It's sad how much more intimidating the combo of Cabrera-Fielder is than Pujols-Hamilton.
  5. And here's the inevitable point where our SP immediately cough up the lead
  6. Especially with a DP threat at the plate and Sanchez is throwing nothing but junk at 80 mph.
  7. Jackson had like 5 steps before the ball left his hand lol
  8. Can't believe the stat Rojas put up, we've had 3 clean frames from pitchers in 27 innings (LOL)
  9. And this ump is already squeezing pitchers on the corners, not good for Hanson.
  10. Typical Bourjos, can't read the pitcher for shit so he never steals a base and then tries to overcompensate by getting way too aggressive going to third.
  11. I have a pair of the Crosslinks, they're pretty nice. I just like how all their glasses curve around your eyes so the frame doesn't stick out like 2 inches off the corner of your face.
  12. I forgot the "I won't get you free sunglasses" disclaimer, damn.
  13. I actually work at the Oakley HQ in Foothill Ranch doing IT work (nothing to do with the retail side), and their sunglasses are no joke. Their HDO Polarized lenses are insanely clear and crisp. A lot of their proprietary lens technology sounds gimmicky with all these buzzwords ("XYZ" technology, hi-def optics and etc.) but they're honestly the best sunglasses I've owned. As far as apparel, its insanely overpriced at retail pricing (IMO) but its all high quality stuff. I get it cheaper than wholesale and usually still have a hard time justifying the cost unless I'm just buying t-shirts.
  14. Anyone can look good over 3 starts or 50 PA's (except the Angels).
  15. Or maybe it's just a lot easier to accept sucking completely when there are no expectations whatsoever for your team. The Angels get hyped seemingly more and more every year, and fall well short of anything resembling success. If we had the talent/payroll of the Brewers/Padres/Royals/Pirates or etc., I wouldn't mind a 4-10 record if guys were developing and there is positivity on the horizon. A 4-10 record when you have a lineup with Trout, Pujols, Hamilton, Trumbo and etc. with a bleak future outlook is probably the most depression comedy of errors that could happen.
  16. I see what you're saying, but I'm not sure how tanking will help us in the future anyways. It seems most agree that the problem stems from the front office downward as far as talent evaluation and player acquisitions are concerned, and even if we get high draft picks from a shitty season or get new coaches/management who's to say there would be any difference. We really need to find guys that can evaluate and coach pitching and scout international players, because finding pitchers via free agency in the near future is not going to happen with how teams are seemingly locking up every one of their promising young pitchers. It's hard to salvage much when both our major and minor league teams are a train wreck. If things keep going like this I feel like we should almost pull a Miami and start trading off some guys for young, high upside pitching, though I don't see that happening any time soon.
  17. I'm pretty die-hard as far as Angels fans go, but why waste your time with a shitty on-field product when there's so many other things to do in the area? I left in the 8th when we were at the first game of the Astros series and went over to Noble Aleworks and had a much better time than I would have watching Josh sprint to third on a one out foul pop-fly. I don't feel obligated to stay when I'm bored or pissed off consistently from the same bone-head plays or poor at bats. If that makes me a bad fan, then oh well.
  18. Vargas has a 4.09 ERA and 1.25 WHIP the past four seasons. Saunders has a 4.21 ERA and a 1.39 WHIP, and is two years older. He's basically a shittier version of Vargas. What does a backup backup first baseman have to do with anything, and how many teams have/need good 3rd string first baseman depth? How are we supposed to fit Trumbo, Hamilton, Pujols and Morales in the same lineup on a regular basis with Bourjos in CF and Trout in LF? You are reaching pretty far to box everything into your own biased argument.
  19. We needed pitching and had a logjam of 1B/DH players, and Morales was a year away from being gone anyways. Would things be any different if Morales were here instead of Vargas? I highly doubt it.
  20. The scary thing is that even when they aren't giving up 5+ runs a start, they still look bad. Like CJ giving up only 1 run yesterday despite pitching like a scared child and allowing tons of baserunners, and Jered's start against Cincinnati where he was all over the place but managed to tiptoe through just enough to not get crushed. Not to mention his fastball sitting at 85-86 mph. Same with Richards getting hit hard although most of them were finding gloves and him getting squeezed a little bit on breaking stuff. We're twelve games in and still haven't seen an even somewhat great pitching performance. There's not one guy on the staff that I feel confident starting a game right now, honestly.
