seriously... the kid seems like he's been playing in the bigs for 5 years instead of 5 weeks. Not just on the field, but in his postgame interview too. I'm so impressed with how MLB-ready he seems, and I felt the same way about O'Hoppe before he got hurt. It's such a change from watching Jo Adell struggle to adjust to the MLB level for years

Maybe I'm dumb and don't understand baseball strategy... but I really don't understand why you don't try to squeeze bunt in that situation... tight game in late inning, speedy runner on third, only one out. If it doesn't work, you still get a Trout AB with a runner in scoring position. I personally would much rather see them try it than watch Ward strike out looking on a pitch right down the middle. What am I missing here? Is it just cuz players don't know how to bunt?

true, I guess I meant "great" relative to my expectations considering how green he is, and he seems to have a knack for drawing a lot of pitches, good OBP (yes I know a lot of that is from HBP) he just doesn't look like a kid who was playing college ball this time last year. My gut tells me he could develop into a solid leadoff guy

Neto looked away from that ball twice to sprint out there and locate Ward, and was still able to re-acquire and track the ball. This kid has had several web gem plays already, and has it even been a month since he got called up? Great hitter too. So glad we didn't spend a ton on SS... this kid is the future (and present) at that position

I'm not sure if that was incredible dexterity or just sheer luck that Moniak kept ball in front of him after missing the diving catch. Either way, I'm glad he kept it to a double and not a triple. Super impressed with what I've seen from Mickey so far. Same with O'Hoppe and Neto. Assuming Perry is the one deciding that these prospects are ready for prime time... he's earning my trust. Now if he can just get some consistent middle relievers to shore up our leaky bullpen, I might just declare myself a Minasian fan
