I will gladly take the A’s and Rays payroll. Just because we spend money doesn’t mean that it is a good thing. He spends money to put fans in the seats, not for wins (Pujols, Hamilton, Rendon - don’t hate Rendon signing but would’ve much rather overspent on pitching). But those were all sexy signings. Big difference and ones that have huge ROI for him since fans will show up every day to see these guys play. Pitchers pitch once every five days.

By no means am I saying Thaiss would be any better, but I'd much rather run him out there every single day vs. playing Pujols. Play La Stella at 1B or 2B every day and platoon Thaiss and Rengifo. I know it won't happen, but that's what we should be doing at this point vs. watching Pujols suck ass.

Pujols is not a run producer. Pujols knack for "hitting in clutch situations" is just the narrative that has been shoved down our throats to justify one of the worst FA signings in American sports' history. Pujols is trash and is one of the worst players in MLB. His ass should be firmly cemented on the pine. I don't give a fuck how many HR's he hit when he played for St. Louis. The guy is worthless outside of some sort of sentimental, kumbaya type reasoning. He does nothing well other than field balls that he can actually get to, which isn't many.
