Matt Thaiss is good enough that they won't keep his bat out of the lineup for long. Before, Albert was still in the lineup because there weren't any alternatives. And little by little, we've seen that change. His production continues to fall, there's a new manager writing the lineup card, DH is no longer an option with Ohtani in the lineup, he's competing directly with Bour, and he has Thaiss and Walsh both in AAA, particularly Thaiss who looks every bit the part of a starting 1B, and was drafted in the first round by the current GM, not the one that signed Pujols.
I agree and hope to see him swinging away in the white and red. A lot of interesting changes coming after Ohtani starts DH’ing. Spring’s eternal hope?

Seriously, some of those guys have been looking mighty good in Cactus. Thiass and Briceño both bode well for the future. Thaiss is obviously stymied behind his position; looks like first is locked up. But, hey, who knows? He could be starting every game come May. No disrespect to AP intended. (I actually think AP has been promising in Spring, but...well...)

“I really wish we still had Vinny Pestano instead of Mike Clevinger.”
- Said by nobody, ever. And by ever I mean never, ever including any of the alternate universes.
Edit: Clevinger is pitching a perfect game through three innings vs. the Angels. Vinnie is on the water slides with his kids at Raging Waters.
But Vinny is perfect through 7 cycles on the Cowabunga Plunge. That’s superhuman waterparking, right there.

Nope. I love it.
Too bad our old GM didn't capitalize on an opportunity to sign his son when he was taking BP at the Big A as a young kid.
But, we got Roberto Baldoquin who nobody had on their radar as far as top international prospects that year.
Love all of the above, especially the positive enthusiasm. Hey, it’s a brand new day here in Angeland—we gotta support one of our greatest players, and hope this is a sign of progressive forethought on the part of the front office.
As for Jr: yeeeeeaaaaahhhhh...how’d they miss THAT one?

Regardless of stance and swing, does anyone agree that he looks great out there? That hit against the D-Backs last night was pretty spot-on.
He had a killer ST last year, and then spiraled. Hopefully this isn’t a repeat, but I suspect he learned a bitter lesson from that national nightmare. Or at least I hope he did.

I likely live closer to the proposed new area, and would still rather crawl to the existing Big A than deal w Long Beach. Keep our guys in Orange County. Please!
How ‘bout that Fletch, eh?
New Angels Stadium in Long Beach?
