  1. 3.35 and 2.94 ERA pitching half of the time in Texas, is excellent. We should definitely see him get closer to his first half numbers of 2012 than his second half numbers, if healthy. He is on the wrong side of 30, but doesn't have many innings thanks to his years as a reliever.
  2. There is, but I'm exaggerating. This is an amount of money that they can easily afford and is well worth it.
  3. People are asking Mike Trout questions about it. People are asking Moreno, Dipoto, Scioscia, and the team about it. It is annoying, I'm sure.
  4. It just came up on CBS Sports Central with Jim Hill. $200k pretty much eliminates the talk and the questions, wouldn't you agree? Might be worth it just for that. If it makes Trout and co. happier... steal of a move.
  5. Weak considering comps and the fact the Angels are not a cheap ass team like the Marlins. They should be able to afford a bump.
  6. Money. Read what I was responding to. Point is... and I've said it several times... we aren't talking about much money. You can give him a sizable raise for not much money in the grand scheme of all things MLB. You can afford to give him more because of him.
  7. Correct. That's why I posted "His family and friends might"
  8. http://www.angelswin-forum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/473-angels-renew-trout-510k-agent-mad/page-5#entry8755
  9. Again.... I haven't suggested they pay Trout "Wells money".
  10. Even if it isn't disrespectful, he may think it is. His family and friends might. His agent seems to. In business, you also need to consider doing things to appease your star employees, so they stay your employees.
  11. The Angels' angle is that they treat all their young players the same. Does anyone think Mark Trumbo, Peter Bourjos, or Erick Aybar would be upset if Trout got $750k? Trout's season was so great, it isn't like future players could reasonably expect a raise like Trout got.
  12. They didn't have to make the trade and pay Wells. I've never suggested offering Trout a crazy @ss contract now.
  13. Wells is relevant when illustrating what kind of money is being talked about. It is penny pinching. Why risk affecting future negotiations, everyone asking Trout about this.... over so little money?
  14. He gave it out to Vernon Wells. That's the absurdity of this in a nutshell. We aren't talking about $80 million, $20 million, or even $2 million.
  15. Bryce Harper signed a 5 year contract that started in 2011. Not comparable.
  16. Tim Salmon earned $600k after his ROY campaign. 19 years ago.
  17. You can thank the Angels for that. They could've prevented it.
  18. The comments about him being able to live on this much money, his endorsements, and how young he is... are silly. Completely irrelevant.
  19. There's three videos on there. Try this link http://mlbnetwork.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?topic_id=7417714... look below on the playlist... scroll if necessary.
  20. I'm not even sure what it means. Last year, Tim Mead mentioned they weren't thrilled that he tweeted that Mike had been called up before the Angels had announced it... because it meant someone was getting sent down, but hadn't been told.
