  1. Every time I see Tori I think back to when late in the season he says he loves playing for the angels, wants to finish his career with the Angels and...would play for almost "nothing" to remain an Angel.  So when then Angels offer him 7.5 Mil he says "nah" and walks away. Yeah, the Angels were pursuing Greinke and asked him to sit tight until the deal was made. But Tori wouldn't wait.  That's what I remember.

  2. As most of you know, the announced attendance, which by the way they have stopped doing this season, is paid. Actual attendance is usually 15-20% less. And, as the article mentioned, the Angels are more interested in filling the high end seats than the rafters. In addition, the Angels make a better profit on the 20-game pkg than season ticket sales.

  3. First of all, there's Vin Scully and then the rest. Nuff said.

I really enjoy Victor but think we could do better than Gubi. The thing I like best about Victor is he is not afraid to speak his mind on a player or play that just occurred. I remember when Abraeu (sp?) grounded out moving a runner from 2B to 3B and Victor mentioned that it was all well and good, but his real job was to knock in the runner!

As for a new color guy, I always wondered how Salmon would do? Now for pure entertainment, I would love to hear Clyde Wright in the booth. What hoot that would be!!!!!

  4. What I don't get is why do the replay crews take so long? It's as if there's one guy in a room who only starts to look at the tape if a call is made. Often the reversals are obvious to TV viewers in twenty seconds. MLB should have umps actively watching each game and those video umps should be able to unilaterally pipe in to reverse a bad call if they see it. No reason it has to add any significant delay and could mean more jobs for umpires so union should be OK

Umpires and their union originally  requested a 5-man crew. Each umpire would rotate into the on-site replay booth following their plate assignment.  Request was turned down by MLB. My guess, too costly. As is stands now, a crew traveling through NYC is assigned a 3-game replay stint at MLB.

  5. I'm in the camp of "who the eff cares, it's a baseball game." I am always dogs, peanuts, beer. I actually go out to dinner at nice restaurants fairly frequently, but that's about the last reason I go to a game.

    I agree with you.

When walking my section after the game, I am amazed at the amount of leftover food, some of which is barely touched! The biggest leftover item in the "not like momma fixt it" is the Nacho `n Cheese (not the helmet).  And of course the hot dog dad bought for the kids. "They taste funny!" I want some <enter their favorite desert>!!

The most liked items come from the Smoke Ring, especially the Tri Tip Sammie's!
