  1. I think thats a common misconception that he lacks the focus to be a true big leaguer because of his confident and optimistic nature.

I don't think it is a misconception really, at least in his past.

What do you do for work for you to have the time to travel so often to these minor league towns? Dude only has played one season or less at each stop and you have seen him quite a bit. I have trouble attending 75 or so Angels games plus another 10-20 Cal League games and they are right down the freeways from me.

  2. I spent the last couple days writing my thesis so drinking was needed.

    The list:

    Drakes Hopocalypse

    Knee Deep Simtra

    Lagunitas Sucks

    Alpine Nelson

    Alpine Duet

    Alpine Pure Hoppiness

    Pliny

    Knuckles

    Troegs Nugget Nectar

Growler of Four Peaks Double Knot

  3. Saw him once on Rookie Ball.  Probably a dozen times in A Ball.  20 times in AA.  Another 20-30 times in AAA.  PRobably another dozen the past couple Springs.  I dunno, I'd say I'm about as familiar with him as a player as any fan is.

That's cool, I don't get out to AA at all and only see them in AAA if I make the drive to Vegas which is rare. Always thought it would be fun to actually watch them at every level. While you can still gauge their improvements with stats I prefer to see them live. Lucho is a perfect example of this, in the Cal League he would put up good numbers but he seemed to lack focus. Has that changed from what you have seen? I find it hard to believe that a player who is not committed at all moments will have a high level of success in the bigs.

  4. T-Spoon has really improved since the Cal league. Saw great growth in his game while there and he continues to progress. I think its a bit of a stretch to think he will be a star in the league but he does have the athleticism to accomplish that. I could see him stepping in as a PBJ some time next season if he continues to improve his offensive side of his skill set.

  5. Probably not smart to talk about bad customers who are Angels fans on a site that is an Angels site in a thread that the organization would probably read if they were to come on here.

As for the ticket re-sell situation, really don't care since I attend most. Only games I don't go to is the Red Sox/Yanks/Dodgers and it is not because $$$ is made off of these games as much as I go to over seventy games or so and don't feel like dealing with their fan base. Rather watch those on a couch with good beer. Also, people are mistaken if they think most SSH actually turn a profit by selling tixs throughout the season. I am sure some do but you would need to sell quite a bit of your season to do so. By putting a little effort into it money can still be made on the "premium" games, simple supply and demand.

  6. As stated above, he has said this all spring. The Yankees saw enough to believe it obviously. They wouldn't make the commitment they did if they thought he was going to duplicate last season. Its a risk but I have a feeling that .260 26HR 78RBI is very possible from Vernon this season. I actually hope him the best as long as the Yankees lose. Just happy the FO was able to receive some decent coin in return for a guy who had little to no place in the dugout.
