Proud day watching my son sign his 1st professional contract.

Michael Hermosillo drafted by the Los Angels Angels of Anaheim with the 847th pick in the 28th round of the MLB Draft. The outfielder wouldn't release full terms of his contract, but did say it was worth more than $100,000 plus it guaranteed the worth of his football scholarship was paid for as well. Hermosillo was projected as a fifth to 10th-round pick, but he was told by Angels officials Thursday they likely wouldn’t draft him during those rounds Friday because they were targeting pitchers.
