  1. 2013-14 INTERNATIONAL BONUS POOLS

    Total

    21. Angels $1,993,700

"In addition to its international signing bonus pool, each club is allowed to sign six players for bonuses of $50,000 or less that will not count against its pool, the same way each team is allowed to do so during the current signing period. Any signing bonus of $10,000 or less will also be exempt from a team’s bonus pool, an increase from the $7,500 bonus exemptions in place currently."

  2. "While every team received a $2.9 million international bonus pool for the current 2012-13 signing period, the 2013-14 international pools are based on reverse order of 2012 winning percentage, which means the Astros will have the most amount of money to spend, and the Nationals the least."

2013-2014 INTERNATIONAL BONUS SLOTS for Angels

    Slot 21 Value $534,000

    Slot 51 Value $360,500

    Slot 81 Value $243,500

    Slot 111 Value $155,700

  3. Jordan Walden retired all five Nationals he faced, striking out three of them, for the victory in relief as the Braves won 3-2 tonight.

Walden, acquired from the Angels for Tommy Hanson over the winter, has a 1.69 ERA in 10 2/3 innings to date. Incredibly, he's yet to walk a batter. The Angels soured on him during a 2012 season in which he walked 18 (and struck out 48) in 39 innings.

  4. Not really, Cordero got a promotion despite his 6.35 era and almost 2 whip

Basically due to one bad game where he gave up 3 runs. Not saying he's ready for Anaheim, but he is evidently improving enough to move up after being out of baseball.

  5. According to Ken Rosenthal, down in middle of article:

"A third party has contacted former Angels reliever Troy Percival about possibly joining the organization in some kind of coaching capacity, according to a major league source. However, it’s unclear whether a pursuit of Percival, if it indeed took place, would be related to the Angels’ struggles."
