  1. Hate to say this, but I do not like this player. Yes he is similar to Trumbo, but remember how frustrating it was to watch him everyday? The money is small, but I'm not a fan of an under .800 OPS guy, who is 41 years old, as the DH, part-time or not. He can't play the field. He can't run. He can't throw. He doesn't have good plate discipline. Unfortunately, he was the best, cheapest, serviceable player available, but I'd rather have filled the DH spot with somebody who can get on base at a respectable clip and drive the gaps. I'd rather see Matt Long as the part time DH over Ibanez.

"...not a fan of an under .800 OPS guy..."

Well you're not a fan of most of the league then.

  2. I'd like to see more of Hanson to make this decision. He pitched decently well although there was definitely some luck going on with him(below average WHIP, K/9, BB/9, H/9, HR/9).

Richards actually has a better WHIP, K/9, BB/9, H/9 and HR/9 but his ERA is way higher. Baseball can be a funny game sometimes. I'd ride with Hanson and see how he continues with below average peripherals.

    Forget ERA.

Richards allows fewer baserunners per inning. Give me him.

  3. These numbers aren't going to last. I'd be amazed if he still has a below 4.00 ERA in August.

That being said, he's keeping the ball down and getting a lot of double plays. I agree that his style happens to take advantage of our defensive abilities.

  4. 6 wins in a row is asking alot for any team. That's the problem with digging yourself into a hole early on. You end up needing win streaks to bring you like back to normal instead of it just being a plus. Personally, I don't think we'll get back to .500 before May.

  5. So Angelsjunky would have rather had Wells.

They also only had 7 days after the WS to make a decision on Haren and Santana, and financially I can see why they went the direction they did.

Greinke had a choice, and he chose not to come back. Unless the Angels went 6/$150+ he would not have come here. Then people would be here bitching that he's out, and may not be the same pitcher again.

How can you say Grienke would be out with us? That fight wouldn't even have happened.

And we've already dug a hole we'll never be able to get out of. Just like last year.

I like Dipoto, but he doesn't seem to get results. Almost only counts in horseshoes & hand grenades.
