  1. Yeah, I knew that part.  If this is in any way remotely true, they should get expelled.  Some scuttlebutt I heard was they got jumped after some chick got mouthy, and she may not have even been hit by the players but by the ensuing melee.  Regardless, poor judgment, adios degree, adios thoughts of playing at a higher level

We both know none of those players were getting a degree or going to be playing at a higher level :)

  2. I've gotten a tickets to a couple games so far, and so far the best price for me has still been stubhub.  As the season starts off and the dynamic pricing truly kicks in, I'm sure that will change.  Instead of just checking stubhub like I did in the past, I now check 4 sites for tickets for a game:

    Stubhub

    714tickets

    Angels ticket exchange

    Angels/ticketmaster regular sales site

I find tickets in the area I want, and then go to the checkout page on the sites, and see who has the cheapest total once fees and whatnot are factored in.

You know how to buy tickets!  Everyone should do exactly this when buying.

  3. Stubhub was the worst way to sell tickets. The Angels ticket exchange (before stubhub) was light years better. MLB signed the stupid stubhub agreement which forced clubs to use stubhub. In turn, stubhub charged their 15% commission to the seller AND exorbitant fees to the buyer. If somebody tried to by a pair of $1 tickets, the final price to the buyer was over $10! That left .85/tix to the seller while Stubhub made a killing off that transaction.

I give praise to Arte for fighting against MLB and getting back to the ticket exchange. The stubhub policy was taking money out of both the clubs and SSH pockets. Arte is trying to protect the face value of tickets and by doing that he needs to retake control. The club will be able to take advantage of dynamic pricing model while the SSH paid one flat fee for the entire year. This in turn this will help protect the value of SSH pricing.

SSH can still sell tickets on Stubhub but will notice less in return.

Either the OP works for Stubhub or never used the ticket exchange.

Fees for the buyer for ticket exchange this year are basically the same as stubhub last year (10% of the ticket price +$4.95 delivery).  Only difference is last year stubhub had a $5 minimum or 10% so if your order wasn't at least $50 you were paying a little more but only a couple bucks (the $5 min really killed people who buy single tickets because it would turn a $1 ticket into $10.95).

  4. Yup, Ducks played the CBA perfectly.  They knew a lot of teams would be hamstrung with the cap going lower and they put themselves in a posisition to re-sign Getzy and Perry and still have cap room while still remaining a competative team.  Kudos to Bob Murray and the Samueli's.

  5. Great game last night, unfortunately couldn't be there in person because work got in the way.  Looks like I'll be getting to John Wayne early on Wednesday so I can watch the game at the Ducks bar before my flight to Vegas for the madness!  Great times right now for so cal hockey...if we can meet the Kings in the playoffs that series will be ****ing nuts!
