  1. I'm all for California agriculture, but not if when we're being told we're (the little guys) are the bad guys, yet we are essentially subsidizing the world for our bread basket. From the googles, nearly 50% of California agriculture production was exported in 2017 https://ustr.gov/map/state-benefits/ca https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwi5-56R_9b7AhURI0QIHSkbDfQQFnoECA0QAw&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cdfa.ca.gov%2Fstatistics%2FPDFs%2F2017-18AgReport.pdf&usg=AOvVaw1vibub35VPES_BpwtWEimA
  2. https://www.latimes.com/environment/story/2022-11-30/fifth-of-california-water-agencies-expect-drought-shortages Nearly 20% of California water agencies could see shortages if drought persists, state report shows I know we've debated the lack of water projects around the state, and the barriers to pleasing everyone. I think everyone, except Lifetime, agreed that the paved channels that are the LA River are a travesty, but no one can determine how best to restore it. I have the unfortunate honor of commuting the 710N every day from Long Beach up to East LA. I see all the water rushing down the channels to the ocean whenever it rains and it galls me that we don't try to capture more of it. I wonder why someone smarter than me hasn't tried to build reclamation/recharge ponds along presumably state owned land next to the freeways that are just empty. Couldn't someone engineer a funnel every 100' or so along the river to divert water into a culvert that would fill these basins and let the water soak? Yeah, it would be filthy but again, there has to be a way to filter that trash out and let the water seep? Here's a portion between the freeway and river as an example: Anyways, thank you for attending my TED talk. I'll go post something new to the GC forum.
  3. That was a helluva game. ND now knows how SC fans felt against mobile QBs like Vince Young, Brett Hundley, etc. I have to think Williams wins the Heisman
  4. Charbonnet will run for 200+ against us. I don't like this game at all, it is a mini version of the 13-9 game, although I expect a much higher score.
  5. Speaking of Trojans, I did not know that Nathaniel Hackett was Paul Hackett's son. Mind blown, I now immediately hate him and must drop all Broncos off my fantasy team.

  7. I'm curious, outside of the expansion eastward, do you think industries have opened new pollution centers in poor neighborhoods? Or do you think the pollution centers have been there, and people move out, and new people move in?
  8. Do you know why there are poor communities next to heavy industries? Because they're next to heavy industries.
  9. Concomitant; holy shit, just use "associated" you racist and classists
  10. And here's the other shoe https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2022-09-21/california-regulators-new-big-rigs-zero-emission-by-2040 California seeks to ban sales of diesel big rigs in a bold bid to cut pollution “Decades of racist and classist practices, including red-lining and siting decisions, have concentrated heavy-duty vehicle and freight activities in these communities, with concomitant disproportionate pollution burdens,” the regulators said in their proposed rules.
  11. Motherfucker trying to sully the good reputation of State Bros? He can go straight to Hell!
  12. November 5th As for scandals, I'm sure there is something lurking, but they have been purging the old guard for a while.
  13. Those are empty calories Lou! You save those empty calories for the important stuff, like hookers and booze!
  14. Great, good for him; Nebraska fans are as delusional as ND fans. That said, he (Helton) probably will have fresh baked cookies and a Kona Ice truck after practices this week.
  15. That's a good way of putting it! Additionally, the university has made it more difficult to tailgate before games, and parking is a nightmare again.
  16. The university and its handling (or non-handling) of Clay Helton has significantly diminished my passion for USC Football. I'll still follow and am excited for Lincoln Riley, but I no longer plan events on Saturdays exclusively around Trojan football.
  17. Which means it will pass with flying colors
  18. Diesel in Lee Vining is $8/gallon. So yes, it can get worse.
