  1. Perez has been really good for Texas this year.

Seems like Texas has done a good job of producing arms from their system from Perez, Holland, Ogando and that's with losing Lewis, Harrison and Feliz out for the year.

Feliz will join the team September 1st and work out of the bullpen. His MiL rehab assignments have gone very well.

  2. They need to go after Garza in the offseason.

He looks very average for the Rangers right now. He has pitched like a #5 since coming to Texas. Another guy that put up good numbers for a while in the NL. yes he was solid when he played for TB but its not really translated since returning to the AL. He is certainly behind Darvish/Holand/Perez..

  3. Whew......    I can't see even this org firing someone who found a needle in a haystack, which finding a superstar in NJ basically amounts to.

What was the holdup, on his side, to signing Darvish at 17/18?

Japanese pitchers hardly ever sign out with ML teams right after high school because there is tremendous pressure in Japan to play in the NP8 before even thinking about going to American baseball

  4. I am so tired of the of the Yu Darvish argument. The Rangers paid up front, with no guarantees, over $50 million cash to negotiate with him. If he failed to sign the Rangers still pay the money and it is not deffered cash. Unlike contracts with MLB experience players you can taylor the contract to defer some of the up front cost.

So wtf do expect the Angels to do, overbid on a blind auction? How much was reasonable to gamble, because that what all of the player auctions are.

It's not about scouting, it's about being robbed twice at the same ATM.

WRONG. They posting fee is only payable if the player signs with the team

  5. Scott is absolutely right, this guy is INCREDIBLE.  Watching him during the WBC, I was drooling, but they kept going on about how he didn't want to defect and was being well compensated.  His power is off the charts and could contend for a HR crown immediately.  More power than Cesepdes, more athletic that pretty much every 1B in the game (maybe not Goldschmidt).

He is not athletic and might have to be a DH. Some scouts think he has bat speed concerns. That said he will be in demand because the 1B position in the ML is crappy...

  6. that's because the Royals are stupid. Yet, some other team will be as well. I could see the Rangers going after him with profar

Why give up Profar for more pitching when they could resign garza and Harrison will be healthy and Perez will have a full year under his belt. Plus Price is expensive and a FA in 2 years. Thats more of a LAA type trade..

  7. Information that I know and believe to be true, but I certainly won't bother backing up.

When Elvis Andrus was traded from Atlanta to Texas, he began using deer antler velvet, which as we can see by his numbers between the two organizations, had a profound effect on his performance.  When he arrived at the big league level in 2009, he began getting his teammates into it and this was the actual origination behind that little deer antler celebration thing the Rangers players did, though they certainly tell a different story.

Ian Kinsler's HR totals between 2008 and 2009 almost doubled, Nelson Cruz went from 27 year old minor league journeyman in 2008 to MLB All-star in 2009, Hamilton was hurt and started using in 2010, which was the year he just happened to hit .359, Marlon Byrd doubled the amount of extra base hits he had between 2008 and 2009 and rolled that into a big payday with the Cubs, Hank Blalock, who was a former user himself had one last hurrah and hit 25 HR's, which was his highest total in 5 years.

This last part I'm guessing about though.  I think Hamilton probably stopped using midway through last season.  He didn't want to test positive and hurt what was sure to be a huge payday.  This would help explain his terrible performance in the second half of last season, and as far as I can tell, certainly isn't using with the Angels.  But again, as I said, that last part I have no information on at all and am only guessing.

Your making shit up. Nobody believes this crap

  8. This will be really interesting.

Cruz or Colon missing time would be a big plus for the Angels.

Even without Colon and cruz Texas and oakland would not be under.500. So i dont think it will help the Angels much unless something changes with LAA halfway through the season and although the offense has improved LAA still has issues throughout their pitching staff......

  9. Pretty obvious you're someone who still can't seem to let go of Hamiltons drug past despite his success in quitting and making something of himself via Major League Baseball.

Repeatedly referring to it as some sort of tool to throw low blows says all you have to know about someone with no class.

Ramirez has not been shown to have done PEDs since 2011 so maybe you should stop using it as a reason to disparage him too
