  1. Glad to see Ausmus kinda stopping dickin' Fletch around, moving him around the line up, taking him out, like he was early on---or maybe he will again once La Stella returns.  I think he should be leading off for the rest of the season.

We need more history and as he gains more attention, we'll see how he adjusts. I'm getting the feeling his performance won't slide a whole lot from where he's at, and prolly gets even better. And he's got those clutch genes, often coming through in key moments--the kinda player we need for deep postseason runs.

  2. So long as Pujols is playing regularly and batting in the middle of the order, no less, I can't imagine this team ever succeeding (i.e. a deep post season run). If the Halos are trying to get some return on the $30 mil / yr investment, they're no longer ever gonna get it by having him play every day and taking up a key spot in the order. He shouldn't be an everyday player. Does the contract limit him to just playing baseball? If not, let him go scout, be a instructor on 1B defense, throw whatever they can on the guy.

To Mike, Eppler, and the entire front office, the guy is one of the major anchors, dragging down the club, taking the excitement and air out. Please, show some creativity and cajones, slot him lower in the order, play him less, make some kind of an adjustment.

  3. Try Simmons at lead off, followed by Trout, or vice versa. Point is, they need to be back-to-back for any offensive continuity.

When is Shoe coming back? Barria or Heaney would be nice additions to the bullpen.

Ohtani seems to have a good head on his shoulders. Interpreting on live TV ain't easy, it's easy to critique after the fact, I know, but that guy's interpreting today

didn't fully cover some good things Shohei said. First, he didn't say "I got the win." It was more, he wanted to give his all for a team win

given the recent struggles. And the interpreter did mention Calhoun, but what Shohei said was, watching Calhoun running full speed, crashing into the wall,

playing hard gave him even more fortitude to keep pushing on in the game. So he was really descriptive and appreciative about Calhoun's effort, giving props to his struggling teammate.

Wish halos could keep causing more havoc on the base pads. More runs than hits. Great weird win today.
