  1. This team is headed nowhere. A’s should pass them soon. Maybe a deep 4th place finish in the AL West can convince Artie that a change at manager is needed. No way they win anything with the current manager.
  2. They will be knocking on the door of 30 losses after this road trip. I think this team is heading where it belongs. In the basement. Maybe that’s the only way they get rid of their worthless manager.
  3. Thank God for the Rangers or this terrible team would be in last place real soon. Maybe then they will Fire The unfireable Teflon Manager and dump some dead weight. The first few weeks were an aborition This team is built to come in 4th in the West.
  4. Yeah they are feast or famine. Throwing nasty splitters will get you strikeouts as will pitching for the extreme corners of the plate. That’s like swinging for the fence will get you more home runs. Pitching smart and having command of your pitches in and out of the strike zone puts you ahead on the counts and keeps your pitch count down so you don’t fall apart in the fifth inning or you don’t walk the tying run on four pitches in a save situation. They are either pitching scared or to fine. They need to challenge hitters and use the defense behind them. I don’t know if it’s the manager calling all the pitches or the pitchers having no command of the pitches they throw. You can’t expect the offense to overcome this kind of pitching approach.
  5. The Angels staff as a whole seem to be always pitching uphill and behind the count. I don’t know if it’s the umpiring that everyone complains about or just the overall teams pitching philosophy. They seem to not trust their own stuff and are always looking to work around the strike zone instead of challenging hitters. I follow the games using the Gamecast function on ESPN and I know it’s not completely accurate but what surprises me is how all over the plate they are. One pitch missing way inside off the plate followed by the next being way off the plate outside. With the starters it seems to happen in the mid innings 4-5 but with most of the relievers it’s pretty much automatic that they cannot find the plate. I think a lot of it’s mechanical and can’t understand why the pitching coach can’t correct it. People complain about the umpires but if you cannot consistently find the general direction of the plate you’re not going to get the close calls. Anderson and Morales ( when he was healthy) have nasty stuff but it’s worthless if you cannot locate the plate on occasion. Tired of Anderson coming into a 1 or 2 run game and walking the first batter he faces on four pitches. This team has to be on pace for the most wild pitches in history. So frustrating. Throw strikes. You can’t defend walks!
  6. Scioscia can’t win anymore. He hasn’t done anything for years. Angels need a new manager. Who everyone that person may be he would have to know coming in that his bullpen sucks and his right fielder and first outfielder off the bench can’t hit their weight. That being said I don’t think any other manager could do worse than Scioscia.
  7. Pitchers pitching scared. If they don’t trust their stuff then they should not be in the rotation. So damn tired of the walks followed by a BP pitch. Of course it would help if the offense could actually score a run.
  8. So tired of 3-1 counts trust your defense.Have some balls and throw strikes.
  9. Scioscia's pitching moves have backfired all season long. He continues to over manage this team. Pitchers can’t throw strikes. Catchers can’t keep the ball in front of them. You pretty much know if it’s a close game the bullpen is going to cough it up. Good thing they held on last night or they would be looking at another home sweep with Verlander pitching tomorrow. Can this team win despite the fact Scioscia's the manager?
