For the first time in more than a quarter-century, Social Security ran a deficit in 2010: It spent $49 billion dollars more in benefits than it received in revenues, and drew from its trust funds to cover the shortfall. Those funds — a $2.7 trillion buffer built in anticipation of retiring baby boomers — will be exhausted by 2033, the government currently projects.

That certainly looks trustworthy, a chart with no explanation.  I wonder how that figure was derived.

Yeah, it's a prototype and most prototypes never see production, and I'd hate to be stuck in this tiny thing for a drive from SF to NY, but the technology is fascinating.

It would be sweet it Bill Hall took over 3B but we know how much Sosh loves his swarthy infielders.  Hall is a little toooooo swarthy, if you get my drift.

Agree.  It's good and I think they have the best fries (which is why I always go protein-style on the burger) but it isn't that good.

The president came up with the idea, Congress approved it.  Now they're both spending the last few days trying to point the finger at the other guy instead of trying to avoid it.  Then the cuts will kick in, and both sides will blame the other side.

Pretty much all TV programming is unnecessary.  Except for reruns of "Match Game" on GSN.  That's totally necessary and everybody should watch it.
