Billy_Ball reacted to Angel Oracle in Angels most upgraded Defense
+1 BillyBall
That was one of Michael Douglas' most underrated roles.

Billy_Ball got a reaction from Angel Oracle in Orange County Register: Angels Notes: Albert Pujols ramps it up
Angels won 89 games that year, but the 6-14 April (and Albert hitting under .200 with no homers) is what killed the season.

I almost forgot about that 3B we got from Detroit, Marte. He has some pop in his bat.

Arte had to shut down the thread to prevent the Angels from going over the salary cap.

Billy_Ball got a reaction from ten ocho recon scout in A Point/Counterpoint Debate: Vlad Guerrero’s Cap in the HOF
Yup. 2004. The year everyone loved Arte. Lowered beer prices, signed Vlad, Colon, Escobar and Guillen, installed the Daktronics scoreboard, changed the stadium name to Angel Stadium, and threw out the Ceremonial 1st pitch on Opening Day to a thunderous ovation.

Billy_Ball reacted to Docwaukee in Red Sox sign Murphy
Murphy wasn't very good. Yet Joyce sucked so bad it made him seem serviceable.
He had 1329 pa over the last 3 years for a whopping -0.5 WAR. He's a poor defender and the best he was likely to do was to give us a .320 obp vs. RHers with below average defense and no power. Nava and Gentry both have more upside because of their obp capabilities and their generally solid defense. Gentry brings speed. Nava brings what could be the best obp on the team outside of Trout.
That's not saying much is some ways, but I think we are going to be pleasantly surprised with the current platoon.
