Jo Adell: The 19-year-old was the Angels’ first-round pick in 2017. A center fielder, Adell has already risen through three levels, from short-season rookie ball to low-A to high-A. He is widely considered the top prospect in the farm system.
“He’s still a ways away,” the scout said. “He looks beautiful in a uniform, but they were dominating him with the fastball. He’s got some timing issues he needs to straighten out. The swing is going to have to tighten up. The power is mistake power right now. … He’s going to end up being a corner outfielder.”
I'm confused on the scout's take on "mistake power" when it comes to Adell's ability to drive the ball out the park. Wouldn't home runs in bunches be considered a good ability to square up the ball? I'm not sure if he's pulling all his minor league home runs but he's certainly doing a good job of showing that same strength and bat speed he had in his senior year of high school.

I don't think Machado ever wanted to originally play 3B but was moved due to his size and ability to man the hot corner.
I don't have exact stats but it does seem like 3B tends to shorten some careers due to injuries. Feels like David Wright and Eric Chavez come to mind in dealing with severe back problems. The move from 3B to SS seemed to have helped Cal Ripken Jr. -
This post will seem overly nerdy but for those of us hanging out at home and watching the game, anyone interested in hosting a google hangout to chat and watch the game with others online?

Trumbo!! 2RBI 2B thrown out trying to go to 3rd though
Trumbo's been hanging out with Bourjos and Trout too much, they have him convinced he's fast.

Conger is Jesus Montero in disguise.

where's vernon?
It's crazy to think that if Hamilton wasn't signed it probably would be Vernon up there.
Howie would have been a good one to put up there if Hamilton wasn't.

A couple wins and momentum before the season starts would be nice.

Opening day line up with Aybar instead of Romine of course.

Possibly a Craig, can't seem to find it searching the forum.
Anyhow I like this idea, similar to King's Court in Seattle.
The Trout Farm presented by Smile GenerationThe new Trout Farm presented by Smile Generation is the official cheering section for outfielder Mike Trout. Groups sitting in section 101 will receive an exclusive Trout Farm shirt with their purchase. Trout Farm package cannot be combined with other promotions or group offerings.

Wonder if he's thought about setting up a booth or selling these in the stores at Tempe? I'm sure there would be some good opportunity for sales to those who aren't as adept with the internet.

.268 12 HR 27 SB and 2nd place for the GG.
If Trout can't beat Adam Jones for the GG, I don't think Pbo wins.

Getting ready to board here in a bit. Plane lands in PHX at 8 am. I'll look for that hat.
Our first Spring Training last year, first thing I spot is "the hat".

PBo isn't getting 70 RBI. 70 runs yes but not RBI.

I like the look of this line up. Hope its similar to what we'll see this weekend!

Is this the same prediction machine from last year that picked Texas to be beat Philadelphia in the world series?

I am. Should be a good Angels crowd there with it being so close. I always found it easier to get autos inside away stadiums.
Any good spot or time to show up to get autos?

Last season my girlfriend took me to the Diamond Club for my birthday, was pretty amazing. The buffet is okay like everyone said. It's a bit on the pricey side but the food isn't bad. Seats were pretty close, didn't realize how fast foul balls drop right behind home plate. Bring a glove just in case!

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I think Salt River looks like our next destination.

Looking forward to meeting everyone this Saturday at FanFest.
Anyone else going to other games during the weekend? Excited to see some of the other Cactus League teams and stadiums this time around. My girlfriend and I will be at the Rangers vs. Giants in Scottsdale Friday, Athletics vs. Angels at Phoenix Municipal and of course Padres vs. Angels at Tempe on Sunday. We're debating on staying Monday to see another team/stadium, are there any suggestions what park would be nice to visit?

Anyone going to the Angels vs A's at Phoenix Municipal?

After getting yanked around and kicked out by the Dbacks it would be nice for him to latch back on to the Angels again. I wouldn't mind hearing his insight during the pregame and maybe after. He's a much better option than Dodger Lodge.

Did I hear correctly that Howie is 13-26 so far this spring?
If true, that bodes well for the season.
Howie is a superstar in Spring Training, once the season starts he's just Howie GDP.

Cleveland's roster looks decent. Wonder if they can follow Baltimore's footsteps and be this season's surprise team.

Seems like Ward has about the same amount of experience at third base as Trumbo did. Granted Trumbo doesn't have the same defensive capability, but let's give the kid some time to learn the position. For a season that's lost, doesn't seem to be any reason for management to rush him along.
