40 years of watching baseball, and that may be the best relay throw I've ever seen. Absolutely has to have a perfect throw to get him, and it was.

Sorry, but this is a repeat of every season going back to 2010. For the last 3 seasons this team has been below average in it's ability to get big RBI hits after the 6th inning. The Rangers did it twice today, we couldn't do it once! Seems like every year from 2002 through 2009 this team would be down a run or two in the middle innings, but more often than not would mount a rally and win. That almost never happens anymore. The team absolutely MUST have some big come from behind wins early this year otherwise this is going to be a repeat of the last 3 seasons.
BA Late and Close situations:
2009 .294
2010 .202
2011 .243
2012 .248
2013 .200

Now I know how Giants fans felt in year 2 of Zito.

As an Angels' fan, this makes my day!!!

I just wanted to see if Gammons picked the Chowds but he's not on there.

20 predictions that I think are pretty fair.
15% Winning the World Series
75% Winning the AL West
10% Watching the playoffs on TV
Seems the Angels poor spring training and abysmal pitching in Arizona has made the Tigers the new darlings and I'm totally fine with that.
Nationals are still the darlings of the NL.

Hmm....Trumbo, Hanson and now Calhoun on the 25 man roster. I'm noticing a disturbing trend here.

I thought for sure it was going to be Mathis, just to start a 10 page thread

I'd like to see Conger hit in the regular season before I annoint him the next Piazza or even Lieberthal for that matter. I like the guy, but from what I've seen of him, he reminds me a lot of Todd Greene. Below average defensive catcher who hacks at everything Come opening day, the pitching will be totally different. For example, Howie will be wondering why the pitchers aren't throwing him so many fastballs up and over the plate that he can rocket to right field.

Kennedy has more left than Figgins and I wouldn't want Kennedy either.

I think Vernon's got replaced mid-season 2012. If Trumbo continues to hit like he has since the ASB, he's the leading candidate to go mid-season 2013. Wilson #2 if he continues to pitch like he has since the ASB. I think the other 4 are safe no matter what.

I know a lot of people are rooting against him and want him DFA'd. But, unlike Abreu last year, the guy has been a class act. I remember when Gaetti came here and sucked, got released, and then raked with KC. If Vernon EARNS his playing time, it only helps the team.

After the game today, Mike was asked about the way Ianetta has been swinging the bat. He talked about Ianetta and then mentioned Hester. He made no mention of Conger whatsoever. As far as Sciosia's concerned, I think Conger sleeps with the fishes.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who agrees with that ludicrous opinion.

It's funny how the hypocrite doesn't seem upset about Mexico's anti illegal immigration laws which are much harsher than Arizonas.

Am I concerned? No. However, I remember most of the Lakers' fans not being concerned during their lackluster pre-season.

Exactly. This guy sat there during the McGwire / Sosa sham because it boosted ratings and attendance. Also, he sat there while Pumpkin Head broke the all-time home run record and said nothing. Now, he's going to act tough while the Hall of Fame voters and the newer generation of players who were tested in the minor leagues are the only one's who've ever stood up to that generation of cheaters. As far as I'm concerned, Maris still has the single season home run record and Aaron is still the Home Run King.

- Trout's going to be the "before" picture.

Great. Now I'll have the chorus of the Steve Miller song running through my head all night. "Go on take the money and run."

The people who always complain about Mike's constantly changing lineups haven't had much to gripe about this year.
