It tells me that when your team gets swept out of the playoffs in embarrassing fashion and not only do you not make moves to get better, but you give up your rather good starting 2nd baseman while the teams in your division are improving, you aren't going to do much of anything the next year.

Because having the best record in baseball is meaningless if you are going to be swept out of the playoffs by a wild card team...

I don't know why this article is talking about starting pitching. Both Richards and Shoemaker will be back with Weaver. They need to focus on help for that garbage bullpen and guys who can make contact and get timely hits.

Regular season is meaningless. Just ask the Angels how much having the best record in baseball and all their great regular season stats meant in the playoffs...not a damn thing. I mean seriously, did no one else see Pujols smiling while being interviewed after the last game saying it's still not over?
