  1. Matt Eddy ‏@MattEddyBA 20m #Angels release RHP Nick Mutz, 9th rd ’11, who looked promising at Orem during his draft year (9.6 SO/9 in relief) but scuffled in encore.
  2. Here and on other threads, comments imply DiPoto is panicing, etc. Keep in mind that the AAA club is short of pitchers, after losing Mills to waivers and Sisk and Taylor gone with long term injuries. It's not like he's handing out big contracts or trading top prospects.
  3. http://www.forbes.com/mlb-valuations/ Also, 9th in value, up to $718 M (bought for $184M in April, 2003).
  4. Jeff Fletcher ‏@JeffFletcherOCR 41m #Angels outright RHP Steven Geltz off the 40-man roster. He will remain in organization
  5. What's the scouting report on him.
  6. Thank Jshep, missed Shuck. So that's 9 for 4 spots. Conger, Synder, Hester, Romine, Rodriquez, Harris, Jimenez, Calhoun, and Shuck. Coello sent down March 16. Jeff Fletcher ‏@JeffFletcherOCR 16 Mar The #Angels sent out pitchers Robert Coello and Billy Buckner and outfielder Trent Oeltjen. Now 44 players in camp.
  7. Carpenter, Richards, and Stetters left for two bullpen spots. 8 left for 4 offense spots. Conger, Synder, Hester, Romine, Rodriquez, Harris, Jimenez and Calhoun.
  8. Mike DiGiovanna ‏@MikeDiGiovanna Correction from earlier tweet. #Angels LHP Nick Maronde was optioned to double-A Arkansas, not triple-A Salt Lake.
  9. Jeff Fletcher ‏@JeffFletcherOCR "Looks like Carpenter, Richards, Stetter are only remaining healthy pitchers left for last 2 bullpen spots. Richards is probably in."
  10. Yes, that's true. Now we have nothing to show for losing Jeff Mathis.
  11. Alden Gonzalez ‏@Alden_Gonzalez 4m Told #Rangers have claimed LHSP Brad Mills off waivers
  12. I think Richards goes to AAA, unless Hanson injured. He's been used as a starter all spring, therefore number one backup for injury. Carpenter on the bubble. thinking Moronde, based on use, had a better chance until today's performance.

  14. with ex-Angel Bobby Wilson, in camp with the Yankees, an interesting possibility, tweets Kevin Baxter of the Los Angeles Times.
  15. “He’s versatile, can start or relieve and throws strikes with three pitches,” Dipoto added via text message. Cisco doesn’t have big stuff and is only listed at 5-foot-11 — meaning he’s probably about 5-8 or 5-9 — but he has solid deception, has performed at basically every level and, according to Dipoto, has good makeup. http://aldengonzalez.mlblogs.com/2013/03/17/the-angels-basically-got-someone-for-free-on-sunday/

  20. He'll just have to live off of his major endorsement deals with BodyArmor Superdrink, Subway, and a multitude of others.
