No way you move Trumbo. Power hitters are hard to find. I also think he has leadership ability and a club friendly contract.

Vargas would be the first option to move since he is a free agent at the end of the sason. Kendrick would be next. He should bring a couple prospects. The Cardinals would be an ideal team match up with.

Beyond those two, only Aybar would bring a return, but the Angels have no replacement for him. Maybe Iannetta could bring something in July if a team is desperate.

To stop sucking we need pitching. Without it, it utcherwon't matter who manages. A call to the pen will still yield the same crap. However, I would try a bandaid approach. Replace Butcher.

I am sure that Dipoto would hire someone from the Dbacks or Rockies for pitching coach. Having MLB experience is not necessary. At the end of the season make a run at Bud Black or Joe Maddon. Butcher should already be gone. No pitcher has ever improved under his tutaledge.

125 million doesn't get much in today's market. Weaver getting hurt took the only legitimate starter out of the rotation. 19 different pitchers have been used so far, most have been awful. The team can't hit with RISP and doesn't draw many walks. However, they have mastered the art of the strikeout. They have made more base running mistakes in 30 games than most teams make in 100. The defenses has been sub par at best. There is no bench help. Oh, and the system is barren of prospects.

75 wins may be too optimistic. All depends on injuries. It takes really good pitching for the Angels to win a game. They only have one reliable pen arm. Tough to win that way. Scot shields and Troy Percival are not walking through the door any time soon.

Throw the ball around the infield so evey one can have an assist.

I agree Shane. Trout can have a much greater impact on the game leading off. All this losing started when he was moved to second.

I watched Walden strikenout two straight hitters with changeups. He also threw seceral breaking balls for strikes. No way he does that with Butcher.

There are no answers in the minors. It is time to seriously consider rebuilding. What kind of return can we get for Kendrick, Aybar, Conger, Callaspo, etc.

You can't assemble a pitching staff through Free Agency. Since the Angels have no arms coming in the foreseeable future I see no way to win a championship in the next several years. Hamilton and Pujols have already played their best ball. Trout will be hard pressed to improve upon his rookie year. Howie and Aybar are slightly above average and there are no replacements in the minors at this time. Tough to be optimistic.

Butcher was bad before Dipoto's follies. He should have been gone long ago.

Actually, the best way is not to go to the Big A. Empty seats will provoke a move faster than anything else.

That fourth inning was a microcosm of the Angels horrible farm system. Just watching those three try to get MLB hitters out is a nightmare. Face it, this will be a long season.

Santana, as exasperating to warch at times, is still far superior to Blanton. Ar least Santana has Major League stuff, Blanton would be a fifth starter in the Independent league.
