Well, a good 60 minute game in Calgary.  What a weird ending by the Flames, not even pulling their goalie.  Every so often, we need these wins to keep the spirits up.  It's not like we would ever get the #1 pick anyways.

Check the standings. In just the few remaining games, Calgary has a lot of room to still move up or down for the lottery. They have to say it doesn't factor in, but so often it is obvious it does.

For the Ducks, a third place finish gives us about a 70pc chance of getting a top 4 pick. Top 4 pick for the next guy is about 30pc. In the year we drafted  Drysdale, one place sooner would have given us Jake Sanderson (Whom I'm pretty sure we would have taken).

Man, tough season for the top 3 draft picks.  Bedard, broken jaw.  Carlsson, knee and concussion.  Fantilli now looks to be out the rest of the season with a lacerated calf.

10 grown men in a small area on ice skates going all out. If you're not used to watching out for yourself (rookies), things are going to go bad until you figure it out. It's a skill they don't impress enough on younger players. Kind of stupid, but seems to be the norm in professional sports.

I always thought Josh Manson's dad talked to him after he signed his big contract with the Ducks. The guy noticeably ratcheted down the contact afterwards. It prolonged his career, so...

$11.25 million.  The amount we are paying KilltheDucks and Stoned for 3 years following this.  They need to be on the 4th line.  Because they are slow as fuck, and really holding down our skill players.  Even one, kills all momentum of the other 2, because the 2 are playing 2 on 3 until the old guy gets in the play.  And even in the play, they are too slow to react and get trapped, and it becomes an odd man rush the other way.

Yeah, but it's funny money. With no cap issues, it's not that big a deal. And, in three years when it matters, the contracts will be gone.

Silyayev is going to be tempting for some teams.  Especially a Chicago if they don't get first.  Hahaha.  we all know they will get first.  San Jose might also want to go big.  Then again, they may go for offense if they don't get the first.

He's in Russia, isn't he ? I think that still knocks him out of the top 4, much like Michkov. Like you say, he's going to be tempting to teams. But I don't see the Ducks using a top 4 pick on him. We would probably have to fall to the 6th pick or lower before I think we would take a chance on him.

But hey, Verbeek has definitely made some picks that were outside of what the mainstream thought.

  5. The Athletic (Wheeler) posted a top 64 prospects list. Some big boys @ RHD. I bet Verbeek is salivating.

Probably have to win the two spot in the lottery to get Levshunov.  But some of the others look like they have promise. Like Parekh if the points we have no way to know about, check out. Verbeek should have a good shot at someone  with his two firsts and an early second.

I'm sure (should I be ?) our first will go to the best player available.  But Verbeek showed in the last draft that in the second he will go for need. I think Edmonton's late first and our early second could fall into that catagory.
