  1. One guy I’ve wanted, not just now but before he was moved from Toronto. But I just hope it works out if we do sign him.
  2. I’ll probably get roasted for this but if we can’t manage to land a top SP, I wouldn’t hate a Stroman/Montgomery/Hicks off-season, now if they perform is another question altogether.
  3. Hope it’s Yamamoto or Burnes, but after this gut punch I’m not expecting too much.
  4. As much as I love Ohtani, I’m not fully convinced we’d be able to get him back, so if not I’d love for us to throw money at Yamamoto or Snell but I see Imanaga or Stroman as more realistic.
  5. Oh I agree, I’m not against going for him, I just hadn’t heard the part where he’s calmed down with the Cubs which is nice so yeah he’s a solid guy who could be worth a shot at that contract
  6. Didn’t he and Bauer both act like they were going to sign with us because of our fanbase and then just completely went in another direction? Not saying it’s everything in this situation as of course coaches and FO are probably the biggest seller to FAs.
  7. I’d love to get Glasnow, but hasn’t he been super injury prone? If we do try for him they would most likely ask for Bachman and/or Joyce as well as some top prospects.
  8. Yeah, I mean they’re all questionable, even Nola has had a couple “clunker” (4+ ERA) seasons lately. Especially since Nola and Snell are 30 now and it’s taking into account later career struggles too.
  9. He’s one of my top wants! I guess I’m just looking at SP/Hitter for this to replace/replicate the two things Ohtani does for us.
  10. Yes! That was exactly my thinking here, Ohtani does two jobs and it would take a lot to replace/replicate it. So if we got like Soler and Nola or to take a wild example Yamamoto (who I know we have a minuscule chance at getting) and Teoscar Hernandez
  11. Awesome! Thank you for your input. Think we could also try for one of the NPB starters being posted/coming over? I feel they could also substitute in for one of those guys. (Yamamoto at least is, I’ve seen that Imanaga could be in that conversation as well but lesser so)
  12. Basically an “if I were the Angels’ GM” post. Just a hypothetical question. I posted it on Bleacher report earlier as well. If Ohtani leaves, and again that’s an “if he leaves”, who would be the most realistic players to take over? I’m talking 2:1 since Ohtani is basically two players. For example top of the line minus Ohtani so Nola/Bellinger.
  13. Wonder if this is the new Judge to the Giants? But either way the most boring option for him to go with at this point. I would have even been surprised if it was the Yankees or Dodgers, and that’s saying how much I grew bored of Cohen this month.
  14. Good point, I’m still somewhat new to being a member here so I can see how that makes sense. Good fun indeed!
  15. Fair enough, is there a source of the rumor? I’m curious to see
  16. See but in this case shouldn’t we just sign Reyes? Couple years older but the injury bug has bit them both, I will say both have the closer/mid rotation potential if they stay healthy enough
  17. Definitely but I’d also like to see a Barnhart or Casali signing, not sure how popular that would be around here but I definitely would be interested in Barnhart who is a 2x GG winner and gives O’Hoppe more time to develop. Their bats might not be the best but I believe they can provide defense.
  18. My only qualms with these players are Andrus and Gallo. Defensive replacement for Gallo, sure but to end up needing him if someone gets hurt and then we’re basically playing Adell with his bat again. Andrus being at his age and having the best season he’s had in many years is certainly a risky thing.
  19. Now if we can sign say, Eovaldi and trade for a shortstop, if we don’t get Swanson that would be pretty solid but I’m fully expecting us to roll with Fletch and Rengifo.
  20. Saw on Trade Rumors the Reds could be shopping shortstop prospects for Outfield prospects, something I think we have a plethora of. Maybe there’s a match there?
  21. For me I’d like one of Swanson or Correa but if that’s not possible then add in other ways to the rotation. One of Stripling, Wacha, Fujinami or Eovaldi. To the Bullpen with one of Rogers, Fulmer, or Knebel/Boxberger. And Make a trade for a shortstop not named Tim Anderson or Tatis as they will want too much for what I’d want to offer them and I hope the FO thinks the same.
  22. I will now shut up about Benintendi! I’ve read Renfroe is sold on defense and of course has 25+ HR power so I’m good there, now we need SS.
  23. I think that’s the best case for us, the only issue is we have no hope after he comes off the board unless we trade for someone. He’s the healthiest and best hitter there unless Haniger is healthy
  24. I’ve said it all over Twitter and Bleacher Report, Benintendi should be our Left Field target. He can hit and he can field, would probably be our best left fielder in a while now.
